Its currently 15 without the wind chill and its supposed to get to low single digits tonight... Sad to say I am not tough enough to work in my uninsulated garage when its this cold :( Quote Link to comment

thisismatt
I was just skimming through. Did you ream off the old ring ridge, or not concerned about it? Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
Ridge ream? Call me stupid or hungover, cus one is Deff true. But I don't know what your talking about Quote Link to comment
Farmer Joe
the ridge at the top of the cylinder on a high mileage engine.. didnt look like it had a ridge anyways.. the 240 block had pretty high nickle content, so they dont tend get bad ridges.. 1 Quote Link to comment

thisismatt
I'm not trying to stir up anything...just looked like there was a pretty pronounced ridge in these pics, or did the hone just not come up all the way? Quote Link to comment
Cpl620
that hone looks super light, you can still see some of the glazing in the center of the cylinder. my guess is that its just a glaze stain still up top. There's no shadow to suggest a ridge. Quote Link to comment
Farmer Joe
its kinda hokey, but if you can get the pistons out without breaking the rings, then the ridge is not an issue. now i know its not the best to go by that, but if you cant catch your fingernail on it, its not big enough to cause an problem. 1 Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
There's virtually no edge in the cylinder walls to begin with. It looks good to me :) Quote Link to comment
