Step bit and reamer bit then new center link

lol that sounds no bueno^^^^^^

im gunna have to go with jrock.......

both the idler arm and steering arm are tapered in one direction, and to complete the flip they need to be tapered in the other direction...

im not comfortable with have my steering components anything but 100%

my research has led me to believe that there's at least 2 "acceptable" options but im hoping theres more ways

A. weld up the current taper and re-taper is from the opposite end

B. drill out the taper and weld in a tapered insert

really? thats ridiculous..

well, im not really sure then. inserts scare me... i wouldnt want the nut on the tirerod to have to hold the insert in place with all the sideways force.

i guess if you had to weld the inserts, youd need to get the parts to like 400* before if would take the weld. thats what the guy said to do if we had to do any mods to them.

Inserts can be found here, http://www.goferitoffroad.com/products.htm

However, the Jeep TRE is slightly larger than the Datsun one so a Datsun TRE would sink into the taper farther than normal. It should be very simple to fabricate a new center link using Jeep TRE's but at that point you might as well order the bit to taper it and DIY.

Yeah, they arent the best solution. I originally bought them because they were cheap and I wanted to see if there was a cheaper solution out there.

Funny to think about now but when I started my DE swap there was only two documented case, Redeye and slinginabullet. Now almost 3 years later everyone and their brother has DE's. I guess thats what I get for procrastinating...
