Eagle_Adam
I may not comment very often but I've been watching your build, and I'm loving it. I'm planning on doing a twin cam KA in my 510, so I like to see what other people are doing. Keep up all the hard work! I do not comment often either. But, I certainly am watching your build. I like the way you document what you are doing. Makes it super easy to understand what your plan is and how you are executing it. Well done, Adam! i know theres got to be a TON of ppl watching without commenting, just look at the views!!! 23k + ive read a ton of build along the way, and im always frustrated at some point with some of the "documentation" or lack there of so im kinda anal about making sure i have it all here..... it might help that one of my main functions at work is to document the process after my tech guys have figured it out.... 2 Quote Link to comment

MicroMachinery
Nice. Can't you use a Nap Z trans, which is the same length as your L series 5spd, and forgo switching out the driveline? 1 Quote Link to comment

Eagle_Adam
if i ever hear of a "$500 KA swap" ever again im gunna start asking questions........ you wanna pick up an unknown motor, throw it in, hack the wires together with relays, skip paint and cleaning, botch the center link flip/cross member flip, and tell me you did it right..... then good for you but the short story $500 in machine work $300 KA, harness, ecu, and trans(a great deal should have been $600+) $250 driveline(unless you go with a naps Zseries trans) $150 clutch $150 - rings and bearings $100 + - new center link and idler arm(could reuse your old ones i guess) $80 - gasket kit $100 - new exhaust down pipe to tie into current exhaust $100 - random swap pieces like new throttle cable $100 - for the new "RPM" box that a friend is making to replace the canam box and i still need to buy: aluminum rad - $250 fuel pump - $100ish header - $100 and who knows what else... Point is ill be well past 2 grand when im done closer to $2500, and there is a difference between done and done right...... 2 Quote Link to comment

BlackBird620
Lol I've got 2600 in mine and didn't have to machine the block. the 500 dollar swaps only consist of buying the mounts can am and driveshaft and maybe resealing the motor before install 1 Quote Link to comment
