datzenmike Posted April 13, 2014 Report Share Posted April 13, 2014 1.75" tapering to 1.25" and 6.5" long. I used 1.2" soft wood so it will wedge in better. What I didn't do was drill a hole in the wide end and tie a bit of rope to it so it's easier to get out. These are only $8 if you can find... Quote Link to comment

robopineapple Posted April 15, 2014 Report Share Posted April 15, 2014 So... on the head i just pulled i little gasket/shim things under the cam shaft holder things bit on the new one it didnt have any. also, on two of mine there are two stacked on eachother, the back teo. is there a reason for this? and should i keep it like that? bananahamuck Posted April 15, 2014 Report Share Posted April 15, 2014 If they are there, they are probably because head was shaved ,, which makes chain to short if shaved alot. The doubling up was probably to make up for some weird irregularities your head had.. If the cam doesn't spin easily without rocker arms on, shimming is done to make the holes straight with each other. .. They are fine either way Don't throw the shims away even if you throw head away i would take them,, i woulds actually take the whole head even if it is bad for parts. We are going up to Golden Gardens for the "golden showers 510 fest" so i could buy/pick up then if your not into it being at your house. Your not that much farther outta the way.
