67_1600
How was the new location (North Seattle instead of Shoreline C.C,) I'd never been to the show before so I can't compare but it seemed like a pretty good fit for the number of cars and vendors in the swap meet area. Quote Link to comment
KiloTango1200
There was a big vintage VW meet today in north Seattle and I know there are some VW fans around here, so here's a link to some pics: http://s1359.photobucket.com/user/67Datsun1600/library/NW%20VW That's some awesome V dubs Quote Link to comment

q-tip
59 NAPCO (maybe). That sounds right, factory started doing them in mid 57. Before that it was the dealers that sent them to napco for the conversion. Quote Link to comment
smoke
Yeah, I was thinking maybe he stuck the body on a blazer frame or something. Quote Link to comment
q-tip
There is always that. My step dad has a 56 chev with the original napco running gear under it still, but he's too lazy to do anything to it. Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
Yeah, I was thinking maybe he stuck the body on a blazer frame or something. Based on the hubs and how the front diff looked, my money is on this body sitting on a much newer frame. Also had an aluminum radiator, electric fans and fuel pump, modern seats and interior, etc. Quote Link to comment
smoke
Right, that's what I was looking at. Quote Link to comment

heretic
Notchbacks are sick.... they're the "bluebird coupe" of the VW world..... I had a buddy build one in the late 80's pre-internet & it took him YEARS to source all the parts. ...........but that thing is siiiiiiiiick!! Quote Link to comment

Cleopatra Jones
I loved the art on the van! First thing I noticed in the lot. I also liked the green of the wagon. Quote Link to comment
smoke
the hotrods were done in good taste in my opinion. Quote Link to comment
Cleopatra Jones
Agreed. I've never seen one there that was so overly modified it was fugly. I'm a fan of 'original is best' myself but some mods can be done in good taste. It's the ones that go overboard that can ruin a car. Quote Link to comment
smoke
To me, what can really make or break them is the wheel and tire choice. Those tall skinny(ish) tires on a steel rim always look great on those cars to me. Traditional hot rods are very cool. 1 Quote Link to comment
