Phixius
uhhggg, as I hold the newly aquired mazda GLC wiper motor to the 521 bracket, saying "I think this shit will work"... look up. aw SHIT!... Tryin' to Michael Jackson moonwalk out the way, not fast enough... Just FYI. thats some hippie hipster wannabe version of what might, "could," be me.... Found out that the GLC miper motor does have the same plug as the 521... SWEET! just swap some plug connectors around and away you go... but, not for me, i have that stupid intermittent delay switch... So, instead of rewiring that motor. I went back to the junk yard and found me a ford wiper motor that would bolt to the 521 bracket. GLC plug. just take off the ground plug and it will slid into the datto But, before that was this. making the GLC motor fit... arm vs arm grind off back of stud to put on new arm. I put it on socket to punch out the old arm. start welding datto stud on... anyways, it works as a upgrade, but not for me... Its now a bolt in/plugin ready upgrade... Hopefully I can unload this on Jon or Hans... Oh snap!!! Japans 007... wiper motor... So, I found myself a 89 Ford Thunderbird wipermotor at the junk yard... make that shit fit! Oh, and BTW Tristin, I saw two more trucks with the intermittent setup... i will be going back soon... From right to left... Right: Stock 521 wiper arm with stud grounded out and punched out... Middle: Mazda arm with datto stud welded in. Left: Ford and Datto arm split and welded together... Well, this should work, right? ... "oh, of course"... says the village drunk... Time will tell... Well, tomorrow will anyways... I hope... or I could drag this out for another week... 2 Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
Cool upgrades !!! :) The longer arm on the wiper motor will cause your wiper arms to swing further than normal. You may end up having to shorten the arm a bit. Quote Link to comment
Phixius
ITS ALIVE! the wipers work. woot woot. Cool upgrades !!! :) The longer arm on the wiper motor will cause your wiper arms to swing further than normal. You may end up having to shorten the arm a bit. You are correct sir! I was hopping it would, because theres about 2 inches the wipers dont reach. and would make them go a little faster. But, I didnt relize that the small amount would make them wipe under the windshield almost to the cowl and past the piller... I did have to shorten it... new motor fits nicely. 2 Quote Link to comment
Tristin
and would make them go a little faster. You could also relay them right off the battery as well. That should juice them up nicely. Glad the install worked out and youre up and running. 1 Quote Link to comment
jrock4224
by the way hans said hell yes to that reverse clocked mazda motor for his 510....it will fix his interference issue.... so that one is sold ... tell me how much and i will get the dough from him 1 Quote Link to comment

jrock4224
sounds like a few tweaks left to do but im down to do this to my truck ... just the increase in wiper speed on the two normal settings is worth it ... but the intermittent is the beez kneez 1 Quote Link to comment

bananahamuck
so its done .... and heres a side by side comparison on a hot day ... no rain.... What`s with the camera guy ,, dude thinks he`s Don fucking Pardo or something. So the Mazda GLC motor is almost a bolt in with stock wiper wiring ? Or does it take lots of mounting bracket work ? Could you do a more detailed write-up on wiring and installing that without the delayed Ford switch? 1 Quote Link to comment
jrock4224
don faucking pardo thank u very much 1 Quote Link to comment
Phixius
What`s with the camera guy ,, dude thinks he`s Don fucking Pardo or something. So the Mazda GLC motor is almost a bolt in with stock wiper wiring ? Or does it take lots of mounting bracket work ? Could you do a more detailed write-up on wiring and installing that without the delayed Ford switch? Im kinda working on it. Was going to use Jons truck for that, but he wants my setup now and same with Hans. So, I need another truck to bolt it into for a comparison. I did finally get to use my wipers friday, it spinkled. although with the longest delay setting it was just wiping a couple drops away that would probably just evaporated. But, I used it and felt like that dude from a Flash of Genius... kinda. anyways. picked this shit up today. whats this stuff for?? 1 Quote Link to comment
Phixius
oh, and forgot about this... 3 weeks ago was having a great day until my truck decided to eat up a water pump. is that the correct angle for the pulley?? nope... it broke in half... 1 Quote Link to comment

Goldfish101
I thought you said that you put your l20 in your 521 in one piece, after reading your thread you said you had to put the tranny in first and then the motor. Maybe thats what we will have to do with seans 620 1 Quote Link to comment
