hvyd
Definitely an icon in the auto and racing industries... He will be missed. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I grew up hearing about Carol. Saw a Cobra raced at Mossport Intl. Raceway about 1966 or so. Bill Cosby had one of the first Cobras. Quote Link to comment
ArchetypeDatsun
Damn that really sucks R.I.P. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
Bill Cosby had one of only 2 Super Snake cobras ever built. Which he described in a hilarious manner on his album "200 M.P.H." (my Dad had the first 7 Cosby stand-up albums, which I now have). That was my introduction to Caroll Shelby. (2 "L"s, btw) The story is Cosby was so unnerved by the twin-supercharged Super Snake he drove it once and gave it back. It then was sold to a guy who Darwin'ed himself into the Pacific Ocean with it. Quote Link to comment

Cosby had one of the first 427 twin Paxton blower cars. They came about 2-3 years behind the FIA cars Quote Link to comment

Str8_69
We should all be so lucky to be on this planet for 89 years and make an impact like he did, not only as the ultimate gear head, but a humanitarian and all around good guy. Condolences to all his family, they lost a true legend. Quote Link to comment
Jesse C.
And of course, how can we forget his connection to Pete Brock. This is where Brock honed some of his skills on running a team and John Morton also got some seat time in a Shelby team car. Quote Link to comment
Z-train
Brock & the other folks were more important to the success of the Cobra & Daytona Coupe than CS was. Quote Link to comment
koback68
That would be news to Brock(without shelby forget about it) Quote Link to comment
Z-train
That would be news to Brock(without shelby forget about it) No it wouldn't. Quote Link to comment
littlejason
Well, he was behind the first Japanese race car in the US (Toyota 2000GT). If that hadn't happened, the Datsun story might have been different. Quote Link to comment
