bonvo
why not just cut the stockers? Quote Link to comment
ProjectFeint
I was thinking about it but id rather not cut up the stock springs and just use them as rollers like micro said 1 Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
^^^Good man. ;) Quote Link to comment
ProjectFeint
Got a set of d50 springs and ordered some kybs for the rear along with a little something special for the L20b ^_^ Quote Link to comment
ProjectFeint
Soooooo Im in the process of changing the rear springs out, and I can't get the stockers out... I unbolted the bumpstops and the shock, and it looks like the halfshafts are preventing the control arm from going any lower. Can you take the top part of the bump stops off? Really lost :geek: Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
I didn't have to. Can you get in there with a prybar and move the arms down further? I didn't have to remove the halfshafts when I did mine.. I think it's just the resistance in the bushings that you're fighting. Quote Link to comment
ProjectFeint
That doesnt seem to be it, i put a scissor jack between the arm and body and its not really budging Quote Link to comment
bonvo
drop the half shaft thats all thats stopping the are from swinging freely Quote Link to comment
Tristin
You might be able to pry that rubber piece off the bottom of the arm... then slide the bottom of the spring out and then down. Otherwise youre going to have to disconnect the half-shafts to get them out. Quote Link to comment
ProjectFeint
I ended up dropping the whole subframe to take the old coils out. But that's good to know! thank you Bonvo and Trisitin! (Going to have to redo it again soon anyways) Kybs Cut one coil off the d50 springs and this is how she sits now  Quote Link to comment

MicroMachinery
D'oh! Had I seen that picture, I would have been able to tell you that those bump stops unbolt from the bottom. Good job, however  That engine's lookin' sharp. Specs? 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Im getting a roadster pressure plate, also read somewhere that there is some fitment issues with the 4 speed bellhousing and teeth of the truck flywheel? Then again aren't all L - series transmissions compatible with each other in terms of engine to trans? All L series auto 3 and 4 speeds and standard 4 and 5 speeds will physically bolt up to L4 and L6 motors, but there may be clearance problems with the larger clutches, yes. Quote Link to comment
ProjectFeint
i spy a subi in the backround she's my track car while the 610 is soon to be my daily :P Quote Link to comment

ProjectFeint
Some small updates... Bored the canon manifold to match the intake ports and soft mounted the carbs and got the linkage on. Removed the clutch fan from the water pump and grinded down pulley. Also got some new led socket holder thingys for the dash lights since the old ones kept falling out. Bay is done and painted and L20b is going in within the week :baby: Quote Link to comment
