I was thinking about giving one of those ebay dome lights a try. Looks legit in the pics, but how is it for real?

Its thicker than oem and the quality of the plastic is a little rough, not as nice as nice as i thought but once in the car its not noticeable

so all that work on the l series just to go ka? what all was done to it again i know it has carbs done

Yup! Cam, peanut head, l18 pistons, matchbox dizzy, full top to bottom rebuild

The ka will be a no expenses spared build and will go in once the suspension/drivetrain/body can handle the power... that's the plan anyways :)

About the engine bay paint... What kinda process was it? Scuff, prime, paint? Was it enamel, or did you clear coat? Etc.. Wanna do the same for my 510.

Just sanded with varying degrees of sandpaper, cleaned the surface, cleaned the surface, cleaned the surface, primer, scuff, paint, clear...

And I just used rattle can duplicolor wheel paint and clear... So far its been holding up very well

Too late already drilled holes  If it came down to it i don't see the problem in welding the holes back up...

Anywho drilled the hood bump stop holes out with a 1/2 drill bit

Shortened the bump stop till it fit the hood nice and snug, oh and the threaded rod is nice and tight as well with the lock washers underneath the rad support

Sorry hood... lol not really

Used petroleum jelly to mark where the hood meets pin and carefully drilled out a hole to suit

Drilled holes with the scratch plate on to avoid misalignment... thinking about painting them a less glossy chrome color later but for now its fine
