Hoosier77
awesome writeup, but everyone please note that the tach lights are nto as bright as they seem in the pictures, you will need to get some higher power bulbs with more led's for the light output to seem similar. Quote Link to comment
Big Dave
very bright. i did this mod years ago with all red LED and wow what a bright sob. lots of fun. Quote Link to comment

Ron1200
Thank You Zeusimo!I just finished this upgrade and... Really... these are much brighter than stock. I went green. Though similar to original, the green is a different color than stock, if that is important. Also, the dash light dimmer works with the LEDs just fine.Observations (using Zeusimo's numbers)1) After removing the screws and nuts off the back, support the tach and don't let it fall on the floor. With the guts out, you can then access the green plastic bulb covers.3 & 4) After the clear gauge cluster cover has been removed (it's held on with clips), the black bezel over the idiot lights & gauges lifts out. You then can remove the green plastic bulb cover in the middle. Also, with the bezel out, you can then access the green plastic bulb covers behind the Spedo. After installation of the bulbs into the Spedo cluster, I'd recommend that you plug the assembly back in and test. It will be easy to make any adjustments necessary before final installation. And the tiny ass mini bulbs used do illuminate evenly. Quote Link to comment
ohmrchristopher
Thanks for the write up, I was hesitant at first but threw my dick to the wind and went for it. I hope I like the green color thats all. Oh well. Quote Link to comment
ohmrchristopher
Well this is fucked, I just ordered all the lights following the links and I got sent bayonet base bulbs not wedged ones. Your links are wrong and now I have a bunch of lights I can use. Its a good thing they're cheap or I'd be more upset. Fix the links to the proper bulbs. Correction, the red Dummy lights and the blue High/Pass bulb are wrong. I have those in bayonets not wedge ones. Other then that everything else was fine and works. I went green with everything and am happy with the choice. Ill post a photo tomorrow. Quote Link to comment

Lockleaf
Wedge base appears to be a narrow blade, typical of a 194 type bulb. These push in to lock Miniature appears to be a small metal cylinder with nubs on it, typical of a 53 type bulb. These push down and turn slightly to lock. Hopefully that helps. Quote Link to comment
