datzenmike
I changed the text. I think they are 2wd and 4wd truck pans. I have a couple of car and truck Z pans in my parts shed, but it scares me to go in there. :crying: Quote Link to comment
Sealik
The 80 axles can be used on the 81 and 82. They are just flipped from side to side. IE.....the 80 passenger side axle will fit the 82 drivers side. Which would make me conclude that the diff is in a different position. :P Not sure of the 80 diffs position...but, should be opposite compared to the 82, measured from the center of the truck. Which then I can compare to the 83+ hmmmmmmmm....so what's my question again?..... .... Quote Link to comment

Sealik
Let em freeze first, way easier than when steamy. ;) You are talking about the turds...right....?... ;) ... You know....that reminds me.....the Farmers Almanac is going to base the arrival of spring when the turds in my yard rear their 'heads'...not the ground hogs anymore..........   Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Ground hogs.... pffft. We have a serious problem with the endangered Mt. Washington Marmot.. So the trapped a breeding pair and raised the young and re introduced them back into the wild. Some had tracking collars. One stopped moving so they went up in the summer and found it in an eagles nest. :D I say they should introduce some Ontario woodchucks/groundhogs and let nature take it's course. Sealik
So.....just got off the phone with Barry from Shadbolt Cams. Interesting 15 min conversation.... :) Anywho..... $136ish for the #449 grind/256 duration/.491 lift. Recommended the .180 lash pads at about 7 bucks(?)a pop. Total is about $213. Ship it out tomorrow Quote Link to comment
Sealik
So...went and snapped some pics on the 'available' IMs in town. Had a fuck of a time trying to remove the air cleaner on the 78 510.... :) Came to the conclusion after the fact that there is a little bar next to the firewall that needs to be turned to release the air cleaner. Tried moving it initially.....didn't budge....so I physically ripped the whole thing off. Noticed it was rusted solid after the fact. Here's the 79 620 And here's the 78 510 Can't see any differences.???? Shall pull the 620. Here's the dizzy from the 510 Think I'm going to get a buddy to cut the top of the L20B TC and weld it to the top of my Z22 TC. About 3/4 of an inch down from top is a good spot. Then I'll have an 'endless supply' of Z22/24 dizzys for the LZ Quote Link to comment

merlin
ummm if you're going to run a downdraft, you should come grab a pre emmissions intake off one of the l16 paperweights in my yard. WAAAYYY less junk to plug. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I think the L220B has larger diameter runners. Doug........ did you pull that dizzy and leave the pedestal base on the motor???? This is bad bad behavior. Next spring you get down there and retrieve it. Always keep the dizzy and base together. That's a remote igniter. The remote box should be found under the dash but an HEI module from a GM works as well and neater looking. Quote Link to comment

Yes.....I also need the shortest IM possible...clearance from the booster When I pulled it,..I wasn't thinking off keeping it.....thus the base I left....I think  Just had to 'inspect' I guess. :frantics: Going back there tomorrow....more stuff. ..........Bell housing...L20B mounts....etc Also grab the base and remote of course.... ... :) Quote Link to comment

Very ublikely but it may have an optional 5 speed. If it has a bottom pan and drain plug then it isn't but worth a look. Quote Link to comment
