SR20DETdatsun510
Are those the QA1 Carrera Hal Dampers? Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Troy Ermish Stage 2. He dyno tested the final product and changed the valving to his exact specification. Also no need to mod the strut tower to achieve more caster... Nice stuff. Quote Link to comment
SR20DETdatsun510
Cool, I have the old TSR built QA1 Carerra Hal with Hyperco Springs. Custom valved for a 510 too.... What spring rate are yours? Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
225 Front/200 Rear. These are adjustable ride height though. The QA1's aren't unfortunately. -Josh Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Finished the lower interface diameter, sand blasted and pressed on the tubes. Now just need to tack weld, test fit and then weld out..... Quote Link to comment
scooter stuff
Finished the lower interface diameter, sand blasted and pressed on the tubes. Now just need to tack weld, test fit and then weld out..... Very nice!! Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
All tacked up and ready to go test fit :ninja: The car will be rolled out of the shop on all four wheels TODAY! :w00t: And then rolled back in....... Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Fronts are perfect. With the 1.25" bump steer spacers I had to use a 0.125" spacer since the tie rod was rubbing the rim. Gotta flip the driver side caster plate on the upper strut mount... Rears are too long. Troy is sending new bodies. Tomorrow I'll weld out and start painting/reassembling the fronts. fisch
Nice to see it outside in the fresh air Josh! Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
You ain't kidding! Loaded 300lbs of concrete mix in the car and spent a LOT of time test fitting the coil overs and going over measurements with Troy. I think we found the sweet spot! The final coil overs will have 5.25" of travel front and rear, 225 front, 200 rear and will go from slammed to around stock height. I'm gonna run 2.5" compression front, 2" rear. This will give 2.75" Bump up front and 3.25" Rear. PERFECT! this is what I've been waiting 1.5 years to achieve and it's worth the wait to have a proper setup. One last outside shot. 5.625" to the bottom edge of the body seam up front, 5.375" rear. Probably gonna settle both down to 5". We'll see. Back in the lair...... The business end... sooo nasty :w00t: Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
I'm gonna finish this chassis. I'll use parts from the other and still keep it running and driving so I can move it around. This one won't be a show car, more of a STREET FIGHTER BADASS MOTHER F*#CKER...... 1 Quote Link to comment
510 OC
Yes sensei... A BADASS MOTHER F*#CKER it will be!!!!! 1 Quote Link to comment
SR20DETdatsun510
225 Front/200 Rear. These are adjustable ride height though. The QA1's aren't unfortunately. -Josh They are Definitely Ride Height adjustable. What you are referring to is Separate Spring rate and ride height adjustable. Mine are not bad for how much I got them for. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Spring preload sets the desired range of travel, lower body sets the desired ride height. . No doubt yours are sweet  What did you do up front? Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
haven't gotten anything done lately. Moving on the 1st and will have a 2.5 car garage with a service pit. Car will be on the road in two months after that. I did order and receive a new tail light panel from the Aussies.... Figured for the cost ($460 Shipped) I would be better off with new sheet metal then my tail light panel with dents and rust holes everywhere. Here's blue in her temporary resting place... Tristin
That panel looks good. $460 shipped isn't horrible... Especially since its such a nice and straight piece. Have you fitted it up on the car to check fitment yet? Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
I haven't. I'll probably do a quick test fit tomorrow. Definitely a good value if you can swing the price. Josh- Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Got the front coil sleeves welded up. They won't ever come apart again..... Pressed in the 2.75" ARP Wheel studs, new bearing races and threw some paint on everything. Gotta get the frontend back together so she can go on the trailer next Sunday. Quote Link to comment
