Josh K.
. your rear flares look bigger than mine.. .. Those flares are going in the trash, hopefully the replacements will be smaller. I need to try and get ahold of Byron again.... Quote Link to comment

Josh K.
195/45R15 - 22 Tall - 7.7 Wide 205/45R15 - 22.2 Tall - 8.2 Wide 205/50R15 - 23.1 Tall - 8.31 Wide It looks like Toyo makes a 205/45-15. This is what I'll try next! That will keep me at the 22" range with the extra tread width! Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
No go on the 205/45-15, it's discontinued. I'm sticking with the 205/50-15. There is some rumblings about Rota making a 15x9 0 Offset in the Grid-V, hopefully this happens before my car is finished and I can run these on the back. Per the Australian rep the mold hasn't been made yet so not much hope, I can dream though?..... So I'm thinking about going with Dodge Omni flares front and rear. Any thoughts on this? I called my local guy and he can't get the Ventus direct, he would have to order from tire rack and they would be $175 shipped. I found the RA1's come in 225/45-15, he's checking on those for me. I have had a lot of success with the RA1's so I'm crossing my fingers! 225/45R15 - 22.9 Tall - 9 Wide Thanks! Josh- Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
No RA1's in 225, checking into R1R's now..... So back to making progress. Today I spent a little time on the throttle body. I decided to remove the heat pipe and paint it. Edited July 20, 2022 by Josh K. Quote Link to comment

Josh K.
I pulled the shaft and welded the end holes, I didn't worry about the ones between the runners. Here's what I found on the TPS. It appears mine is the S13 Auto. Here: Here's what I want, S13 Manual: Here's the S14 Version: Edited July 20, 2022 by Josh K. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Went to the junk yard today and no Dodge Omni's in site. I did find a whole lot of early Golf's. Tomorrow I'm gonna swing by and pick up a fender to hack up. If it works then I'll grab the rest at $35 a piece http://community.ratsun.net/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif I decided to take some more pics of the manifold setup today because I like seeing my work in photos...... Josh K.
So I went to the pull a part and got me a VW Golf fender to cut up. After I cut the flare out and held it up to the car I thought no way in hell. After arrange it about 10 times I'm now in love! I definitely need at-least a 1/2" spacer, I'm also most likely going to the 225's which will help fill out the flare http://community.ratsun.net/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif Donor fender. The goods! I have a lot of work ahead but I'm game! Edited July 20, 2022 by Josh K. Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
FWIW, the early 80s Dodge Omni/Plymouth Horizon flares are a very nice fit. And are about a half inch deeper than that. :) Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Sorry, didn't see you already mentioned the Omni flares... :P I got mine from the JY, but they are also available new from any of the vendors that sell the crap Chinese aftermarket sheet metal. Last I looked whole fenders were $35-40 new. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Thanks for the heads up. I actually like the depth of the golf flares better then the Omni's. They also have metal around the flare I can use to fill the gap left from where they hacked out for the bubble flares. I'm gonna try and fit the front tomorrow. I hacked too much off this one. Im hoping it will work for the front. Quote Link to comment
fuzz's '71 510
I never thought of going back and fixing somebody else's screw up like this. Thanks for letting everybody know how to put a nice flare back on. Definately gonna watch this thread. Fuzz Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Thanks Fuzz. It wasn't my intention going in to fix a ton of stuff... But, I was always taught if your gonna do it, do it right! My buddy Elton donated his busted up fender for mock up on the front, looks like the first flare I cut up can be used. \ I made huge progress in another area. getting the 220v setup for the welder. Gonna borrow my bro's Miller MIG so I can start stitching this thing back together http://community.ratsun.net/public/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif Edited July 20, 2022 by Josh K. Rustina 510
It looks really good man, great cut work on the fenders. Will you bolt them in or flush it with bondo? Quote Link to comment
