I've been lurking around everywhere on the net lately and the amount if Datsuns for sale is nuts.

I've never seen so many for sale since I've been in the scene! Just saying.

People are strapped for cash and have to sell their projects. Some knock up their g/f and sell. Some dicks have a pos in the field so they drag it out and sell for $2,300!!! Some youngsters buy them and don't realize the work and maintenance required to run one and sell to another youngster and round and round it goes. Datsuns are the new cool.

Back on topic , people don't have as much "spending money" , projects gotta go ! pay bills , shit a lot of my friends and some of my family have lost their jobs or hours cut back at their jobs , so yeah ! I'm getting to this point as well :( ,,, economy just ,,,, well sucks ! :angry:

I will say this is an epic time to find datsuns. The last 3 i have bought or been a party to seeing them bought the people were asking above 1000 bucks and they all sold for under 500........I feel bad because I had to sell my 521 2 years ago because i got completely strapped for cash after finishing the 1.5 year restoration........then like 9 months later i won 52g's at the casino and the dude wouldn't sell it back to me lol.........we all do what we gotta do to make the workd go round.

 

I for one won't be in the datsun selling game anymore. I have regretted deeply everyone i let go and I am now over that phase. I told my wife I spent my teens and 20's selling datsuns, i am gonna spend the rest of my life buying them and saving them.

 

I now get to put a little apartment in when i build my shop, so i can stay with my datsuns.

As for dattos for sale this economy still sucks so a lot are on the chopping block.. I bought mine before the economy took a dump and wish I'd have waited as I could pick up a roadster with little to no rust now for 2500. I about sold mine to buy one in better shape, but decided to hold off and just finish what I've got as I wanted something *I* restored.

everyone is looking at thier datsun all wrong...

 

so before i bought my 720 i drove a lifted jeep cherokee that got 10 mpg on a good day, that was getting hard to drive safe on the road because of all the bashing in the woods...

then i drove a 67 cougar (i still have) which got slightly better 14ish mpg, but the insurance was 200 a month for liability....

 

bought the 720 for 13 hundo, gets 20+ mpg and only seventy bucks a month for insurance

 

 

i cant afford not to drive it, and im semi building it while i drive it.... double win

For me, I had to sell my 620 to fix my daily driver, just needed that extra cash =/. I've come across tons of 620's over the last few weeks and of course now that I have the money, they've seem to vanished lol. I'll find the right one for the right price sooner or later =)

LOL i can see how it came across that she kicked me out! No she was actually just kidding around with me, but it gave me a great in to build a sweet little bedroom in my shop!! She puts up with my datsun obsession, i guess since i have had over 20 of them so far she realizes they are important to me and she is super happy that i have something constructive to do!

could be. Notice how when a buddy gets a Porsche Boxster, or a Harley V-Rod, or 86 Camaro Berlinetta, and you think: "yeah, cool. You don't see many of those around here" Then you start seeing them EVERYWHERE. -- It could be the same thing with folks selling their Datsuns.

 

I called a guy the other day that has a 76 280Z for sale and offered my 71 Goon and some cash for trade. Not only is he (supposedly) not going to trade me--- he's going to BUY my goon. He's trading his Z for a Grand National, but wants my goon too. Go figure...

 

 

Anyway, I sold my NL320 because I cannot be the guy that has 4 cars and none of them run worth a damn. Or the guy that every car he owns is a project. Serial projectization-- THAT is where it's at. One at a time, fellas.
