datsunfreak
Latest pics of my 1200... Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
hey what ever happened to this 2dr? Last I saw, it was bought by a Puerto Rican gentleman, tubbed, and had a rotary swapped into it. There was a build thread on 3TC. No idea why a Datsun, with a Mazda engine, was detailed on a Toyota forum, but there you have it... ^_^ Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Ratsun member Ricardo now has this car and has an SR20DET in it. He bought it from the puerto rican, who bought it from Bryan in Costa Mesa (who had put america's first CA18DET in it). ggzilla
I don't always appear in photos, but when I do, I prefer Datsun 1200. Stay thirsty, my friends. 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
OK. This is probably why you and datsunfreak didn't see me at JCCS. I spent much of the day in the tent (behind the 1200s) trying not to collapse from the 97 degrees heat. I was overly tired from staying up all night swapping the motor with Adam's help. Periodically we had to go buy $3 sodas or $4 water to survive. It was Ricardo's tent so we got to talk a bit and he told me the story of his build and I told him about the original CA build. Saturday - my 1200 at JCCS Friday - my 1200 at Pasadena Saturday - Moises, Ricardo and Miguel Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of Adam, who saved me JCCS journey from failure. ggzilla
Leosnake is Rick. Not sure what Adam's Ratsun username is, but he's LOWTECH at Datsun1200.com. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Interesting. It's like my car's exact opposite. Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of Adam, who saved me JCCS journey from failure. Here is his 1200 Coupe undergoing a build: Quote Link to comment
graveltrapp
Finally had Dave show me the Ratsun ways and can now start to post some pics. Here is how it is sitting now, Have 2" blocks for the rear and collars for the front to sink it closer to the ground. Just need some dry weather or borrow someones dry garage top install the goodies... Quote Link to comment
graveltrapp
Apparently the P.O thought a 1200 was the perfect vehicle to haul a landscape trailer with? WTF? After removing all the hardware and hitch, i had about 40-50lbs of scrap metal/free horsepower. Giddy up Quote Link to comment
