nismosilvia
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/3830936012.html Price is too high but would make for a nice project. Quote Link to comment
Z-train
That's my Goon's original color. If you want to slow rust down, use POR-15.Bedliner is a major no-no. Quote Link to comment
nismosilvia
My bedliner idea is for the inside at the seams Im not going to coat the whole door just where the water channel is. This way theres a barrier for the metal. If people spray the rubberized undercoating in their doors for sound deadining I dont wee how it could hurt. Quote Link to comment

It will actually accelerate rust.It will trap moisture.Upper part of the door?Fine.Down where water collects and the seams?Nope. 1 Quote Link to comment
nismosilvia
Okay I will take your word on that. I'll just use some good sealer primer and paint. Quote Link to comment
Z-train
POR down low would be the best option. Quote Link to comment

nismosilvia
Earlier today when I was driving I had to slow down for a turning car. I was cursing in 3rd and I decelerated from about 3k to 2nd and my car started making a grinding noise and the engine started revving like it was working hard but nothing was really going on. I pushed in the clutch and gave it some gas and it went away after a few yards. It will do the same thing on stop signs. I'll use the transmission to slow down a bit, and it will still act like its revving high until the car comes to a complete stop for awhile. I haven't experienced the grinding/whirring yet though. Does it sound like an engine or transmission deal? I know my engine oil is good, not sure about the trans though...I should probably get on that Quote Link to comment
I'm BLUE
Do you notice a grinding sound at idle in neutral ? (coming from trans tunnel area..) Quote Link to comment
nismosilvia
No sounds of anything grinding at neutral with clutch engaged by foot or off. I was reading through the archives maybe its the u joints going out? It was more of a wtf moment than anything. Quote Link to comment
ArchetypeDatsun
Weird I never had that happen maybe a bad trans mount? Accelerator get kinda stuck maybe it happens on old cars. I would put the car on the lift and inspect it could be a ripped rubber mount. Quote Link to comment
nismosilvia
It was definitely something metal on metal. I wouldn't be surprised if a mounts on the way out the bushings are definitely well worn oem rubber. I knew there would be plenty of gremlins to fix just have to stay on track and get it squared away. Quote Link to comment
ArchetypeDatsun
Did you ever find what was causing that noise? Quote Link to comment
nismosilvia
No I haven't yet. It hasn't happened again im not sure what it was but its still driving fine so it was probably wasn't anything big. The suspension bushings are shot its my next project to do. That and go a little lower with the stock struts/springs. Quote Link to comment

nismosilvia
Brown one is clean. The side molding and color choices of there cars from factory makes them so sedated looking though. Clean modern paint job, no shopping cart strips, bumper tuck and some Rims usa poor man's skyline Quote Link to comment
nismosilvia
@ archetype. I was looking at the 810 in watsonville you posted yesterday and I noticed it was for sale a few months ago in modesto. It's starting to get around Quote Link to comment
