  1. I have a Milwaukee die grinder laying around here someplace i could let you borrow , Then all you need is a good quality aluminum cutter bit and a gasket to size it and those ports aint got a chance in hell of not getting bigger.. My new avatar is really starting to creep me out.......fer reals
  2. Yep, it should fit / work just fine...but .the ports are quite a bit smaller though......
  3. Hey, a $200. engine for $1000. sounds like a great deal  And ad says it has new battery ........And it has radiator wrapped around it for insulation..
  4. Yeah, it`s that time of year again, i will be down to only 3 batteries and switching them between rigs. But i keep the better crappy ones for use during summer..
  5. You guys remember when you could go get a " bag a Dags " ..now that was scarfing baby. I think i still have a reusable drink cup around here somewheres..
  6. Yeah but with the rubber hose tensioner i can run engine without oil pressure and tensioner will still work...So who`s a knucklehead now?? Well by pure luck it was the car he wanted .....and being kinda ( i wrote kinda Elmer ) less than desirable model if something were to happen ( teenage driver ) not everybody will freak out about it..And you saw at your house he doesn`t mind getting in there and getting after it ...probably because i have been a stay at home dad his whole life and grease monkeying is all he ever knew as a toddler.. And Datwifey ........
  7. Some more pictures of random crap Did i mention how nice the carpet was ...car even smells nice inside Previous owner bagged and labeled everything
  8. When me and my middle son went to the Ratsun meet in Port Orchard this summer, he took pictures of Elmerfudpuckers 510 wagon and my oldest son saw it. He said that if he was to get a Datsun it would be one like that ..Well if you didn`t know 1979 510 wagons very seldom are on craigslist ,or anywhere for that matter. But i was looking through engine section on here and a guy was asking how to fix head problem. He got some help then the " help " turned mean when they learned he was fixing car for ex-wife or something.......Sooo i sent him a PM asking what he was going to do with car if not fix it. ( something the other members could have done if the TRULY wanted to save every Datsun and not just give lip service ...........But i digress..... ...Went to Renton the next day and picked up wagon for $100. from this old guy that was really into restoring classic Vespas but just didn`t have much Datsun knowledge. The matchbox dizzy was worth the price to me and it had brand new brakes,,,brand frickin new all around.. .....Car has spent a few months lounging in front of gee-roge and son pulled engine out of 76 620 for head but it looked pretty ugly so did some trading for a closed chamber W58 and some Superlites ...He has since pulled motor from car and i helped him disassemble because of no cross hatch marks but it looks like it has Machinist marks on everything even piston tops ( and the numbers don`t match which usually means slight different bore sizes ) but i have several others so maybe not a real problem.. The day we picked it up Test fitting wheels Truck engine disassemble emission removal........ AIR pump was frozen Car had slight head gasket leak These pictures show why we removed engine....(hint ) it`s green Color code bitches
  9. Ahhh, the infamous cresent wrench in the wiring loom ....a can`t remember how many times that has caused my headlights to stop working..........good catch
  10. Yeah we all over think stuff from time to time.......And it`s an old car, and old cars have weird problems sometimes.
  11. Never had JB stuff fail that fast i have my sons bronco has had it on the bottom of tank for over a year ,and it still is holding. and the truck does sound pretty good
  12. Couldn`t make it because of harvesting cranberries ...............somebody just try to top THAT excuse. Keep the meetings coming i will probably make them after middle of Nov ...rain or shine.
  13. Does if over rev or just run fast.. maybe just your choke being on Or does it rev high without cable hooked up? maybe just mis adjusted
  14. I have used that stuff more than a few times , and i love that crap . I even carry a roll of it in my tool box. Now a canopy and a 5 speed and there wont be any reason to not make Canby..
  15. If you want a still picture of that for your archives ...Their kid must play 7th grade football in Tumwater... .I actually had my son take a picture of it but, i needed to delete it to make some room on camera
  16. Maybe, he is also out of his squash. Being Halloween time and all..
  17. And Redbanner i was just kidding you, about the B210 thing,, if i could have found a hatch worthy of fixing in my price range i would already have one. Why else would i be knowledgeable of mustang rear bumper almost being the right shape Or three
  18. Well being twice as old as you i think the name came from little stores called 5 and dimes ie.. Woolworths ,, but we used to call them dime stores. But there is a 10 in the other two names also. And instead of switching engine out all the time why not leave L motor in and as Hot Tuna once said
  19. I sure would have liked to watch this guy work, to make little window out of big one is pretty amazing to me.
  20. I always wondered why they never called 710 and 610s ....dimes
  21. Man, I really need a new windshield..
  22. 510 __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ B210
  23. Just noticed.. but why run the regular plates if not personalized . it`s so much cheaper to run the collector plates and with my memory easier to not forget if tagged or not.. And the white looks really nice . kinda racy too with black accents
  24. You might need to also sawzall the top of the cam cover and remove about 9/16" and then reweld top back on, if it`s the taller L20. I had mine done at a machine shop but it wasn`t cheap.
