  1. Who is your buddy.........might know him! I was in SW MI for 22 years, so knew lots of the midwestern Datsun people! TJ
  2. You ever get out to Road America, just north of Milwaukee? We always race at least one 240Z at The Hawk Vintage Race in mid July. If you do, you BETTER bring this Goon, so I can see it! Wow, killer cool!! 😎 TJ Ignite Performance Arvada CO
  3. USA spec never did, but many other countries did require them, so the captive nuts were in ALL of the body shells. Even the USA spec C pillar lower trim had the hole for it, was just covered over by the vinyl! Yes, you can install something if you want! TJ
  4. 68 has many one year only parts......unique 69 also has a few one year only parts, most obvious is dash with "sweeper" speedo (similar to 68 speedo but different assembly!) 70-73 dash has "round" speedo + possible "round" factory optional tach 73 also has a few one year only parts 70-72 is most common, highest production/sales Prices will vary based on above/rarity What do you want?
  5. Of the 3 bolt CAST IRON style, I think the L20B is different from the Z...........maybe those in lower right of pic? TJ
  6. Nice! Talk in 10+ days if you still need the parts! TJ Denver CO
  7. Wow, that is a CLEAN 69!! I might have the right front sidemarker if you still need & I know I have a 69 heater box assembly! PM if interested......... TJ Denver

I've got a matched PAIR of FULL floor pans, cut out of a 1969 510 Wagon. The Wagon pans have a subframe under the floor pans that runs all the way to the back of the pans (the Sedans stop under the front pan).............I do NOT know if the actual floor pan sheetmetal is the same as Sedan. The passenger pan has a small area of rust thru at the front edge where it meets the toe board, the drivers pan is solid. The rest of BOTH pans appear to be solid visually from the top & bottom...........I think they are in very solid condition! I cut about 3-4 inches UP ALL FOUR SIDES, so there should be plenty of sheetmetal to work with. Bottom line, I CAN ship them, but they will NOT GO UPS or FEDEX or USPS cuz they are too big & bulky. The only options I see are TRUCK FREIGHT on a pallet, or Greyhound Bus. I CAN NOT GET A SHIPPING QUOTE, cuz I will not pre-box them, only box them if sold! Truck freight is the easiest, GUESSING $200-250. Greyhound requires YOU to have a nearby depot & I have to travel into downtown Denver to ship, so it is NOT easy, GUESSING $200+++! Sorry, I've been shipping Datsun parts for 20+ years.............big bulky heavy parts are a pain, but I want to see these save a 'Goon that needs them!! I do not host & post pics, so if you want pics please send me an EMAIL to yenpit@hotmail.com. Once connected via EMAIL, we can switch to text if easier! $150 per side + SHIPPING COST, will separate! Located in Arvada CO for LOCAL PICK UP!!

  10. I will have a passenger 2dr door shell for ya, but shipping would suck as is. Do you retain the window frame or cut off for racing. The frame is spotwelded........I've thought about carefully drilling out welds & pulling the frame out, buyer can weld back in. Would make shipping a lot easier & cheaper! TJ Ignite Performance www.igniteperformanceusa.com
  11. Tail lights......what tail lights? I wanna know what he's gonna do with that BIG JAR on the hood of the car.....???? 🤪
  12. Can I swap 78ish headlight buckets/grille onto my 81?.........not likely as the radiator core support panel will be different! Might modify to fit......... Where should I source struts....easy upgrades?.........the 280ZX (not 280Z) did fit a 1979 510, utilizing coilover springs, so I would expect they would fit a 1981. Use the 68-73 510 adjustable upper camber plates. Can slip a 720 5 speed right in place of the 4speed?~~~driveshaft same length?.........you will need a NAPZ bellhousing to fit a 77-83 Z/ZX 5speed trans, easy swap. If you get a later NAPZ 5speed, bellhousing will be correct. Don't know if d/s length is same 4spd vs 5spd. Who makes a good 21/8 bolt in exhaust without kinks?...........nobody will make a bolt in kit. There wasn't even a bolt in kit for the 68-73 510 until Troy Ermish recently made a system that is very close to a bolt in. Your best bet is to choose a muffler style that you like & have a muffler shop custom bend & install the pipes & muffler. Don't bother wasting money on mandrel bent (no "kinks") unless you have a turbo powered car...........crimp bend is just fine on a low buck street car & much cheaper! Hope that helps!

    Seat Belts

We welded a nut at about that same location on the B pillar............much more comfortable location!
  14. Easy for me, as I sell & ship lots of 510 parts! PM me for details! TJ Denver CO
  15. Have you tried blowing it out with compressed air? If not, and you want to try it, make damn sure it's not aiming at a car or glass window!! KAPOW!!! They will fly out hard!! If the original seals are hard & brittle, they might get hung up on a dirty ridge & they might go "clunk".....?? TJ

    Z22 Crank

I think I have one! Do you know the casting # on the crank? I also have a set of UNKNOWN manufacturer titanium rods that came with it. I would have to measure the rods to tell you what they are...... PM if interested! TJ Denver CO

    Seat Belts

Yes, the original "captive nut" is up a little higher into the headliner......too high for my liking. What year is your 510? I think the NON adjustable/rigid shoulder harnesses came out 70-71, but iirc the 68-69 DID have that "captive nut" in place for other Euro market requirements. I think the retractable belts came out 72-73......?? How tall are you? Reason I ask is that the factory "captive nut" is really high up & causes the shoulder harness to ride up your neck, especially if you are taller & have the seat moved back. I'm shorter & it even bothered me! We welded another captive nut LOWER on the B-pillar & installed aftermarket retractable belts. Lowering the mounting point brought the shoulder belt down, which made it much more comfortable! It's my buddy's car, but I see it most weekends. If you want some pics, send me your EMAIL or TEXT.............pain to post pics on Ratsun! I also have a parts car right now with the headliner removed, can send a pic or two of the factory captive nut location via EMAIL or TEXT. TJ
  19. ......But you DO need the MANUAL brake pedal too......auto is a big pedal, manual is a small pedal! Good luck! TJ
  20. Pretty sure the 620 AUTO pedal box has the place for the CLUTCH pedal, so I believe you can bolt the clutch & brake pedals into the AUTO box, so likely not as big of a project as you may have thought! The 510's & Z cars do! I pull them & sell whenever I find them in the junkyards, but I'm pretty sure I don't have any 620 right now. Will let you know if I do! PS make sure you get ALL of the hardware for the pedals! TJ Denver CO
  21. I'll poke around, but the L16 flex plates are NLS NLA & many USED are damaged with broken factory welds and/or worn out teeth! TJ
  22. Do you have an automatic 510 or are you looking to use the flexplate in a race car with something like a QuarterMaster clutch set up? If an auto car.....what Mike said above! If a race car, I think either flexplate will work, might have to figure out a mod with the starter.......... TJ
  23. They have a U clip on the FRONT of the subframe to remove, another U clip on the REAR of the subframe.......maybe on the control arm (??), then pull the cable out thru the back of the subframe. Sometimes they get rusty where they go thru the subframe, just need to squirt with WD40 & tap out.............
  24. Hmmmmm can't PM you! I do have a pedal box assembly. Please PM me for details! TJ
