  1. thats where my mind went as well! 😂
  2. Agree with everything @Draker said. Canby, while fun, was insane at times. And who knows how the location would handle such things. Not saying we need "deputized datsun dudes" but gotta make sure as it grows it remains welcome. Shirts, 100%, camping both days next year.
  3. And a big thank you to @jbirds510 for doing this, and launching next years thread already!😂
  4. Love them or hate them, i have uploaded thousands and thousands of photos and they arent charging hosting fees... Photobucket is still acting strangely...apprehensive to use them still even though i have a pay account. That being said, I'll have the rest of my albums up (public) on FB sometime today i hope. I will post links for those who can stand clocking on FB.
  5. I nearly had to cancel, the opportunity arose to pick up a Z for the girlfriend from a guy who has only rare windows of free time in Ukiah, CA. Then he had to cancel due to work obligations, so CanbyLand it is! Heading out tonight, staying in Weed, CA, just north of Mt Shasta CIty (for the nostalgic views) And heading out Friday morning to Salem after breakfast. @the510keeper, @WAGON JON any estimates when you'll be heading up 5 through that area??
  6. I feel bad for the guy because he didn't do any real exhibitionist shenanigans that usually are deserving of such carnage
  7. That would be a clutch on an lsx swapped z that unexpectedly grenaded after a few revs 😣
  8. Datslocos has come and gone, next up, POWER LAND! Man this year is flying...
  9. Here's some oics for ya! Links pulled from my FB where i publicly store all my pics. Let me know if you have trouble seeing them!
  10. R4-S for street is a fantastic pad, when cold it behaves like a semi metallic. Feed them heat and they come alive!
  11. You are correct, it slows the suspensions ability to react quickly to bumps, rotational mass of heavy wheels also impairs braking and acceleration.
  12. From a recent club run. Lots of bugs hit that day.........
  13. Remember the wagon well, IIRC he had some torque arm issues at Shasta one year, brilliant idea to control axle wrap with VG power. RIP Randy.
  14. I've been following you on IG for a while now (I'm vg69datsun510) and this car is the absolute pinnacle of insane engineering and development. Crazy high quality work, keep it up man!
  15. Honda wiper motor swap? Let me know how that works when/if you see any rain. I have the old Mazda motor I got from Phildo, but even that is a little tired... Nice progress on the car though!
  16. Per Troy Ermish, park-locks aren't reliable for long duration holding of the vehicle. The pressure will eventually bleed down and the car will be free to move. That being said, I gave up on my "inverted" rear disc conversion to retain the factory e brake cables on my 510, as the e brake never worked worth a damn even when connected. So i have a bungee cord attached to a rear seatbelt anchor, that i hooked the other end to the shifter while its in reverse to prevent "pop out". Granted, the car can walk in gear as well if parked on a steep hill, but you just gotta be smart where you park.
  17. Damn thats terrible...hope you're alright man.
  18. Yeah, i have a 4 door 2 seater as well with the roll bar, my 4 point Schroeth belts work well with my 86 Celica GT seats. but could always be better....
  19. Save the flares as is, steel flares are awesome!
  20. 1979-81 280ZX, 15/16" bore, moves more fluid, faster with considerably more effort. You need to push harder. 1980-81 200ZX, 7/8 Bore, more pedal travel, but less effort required. Both have the proper line placement and bolt pattern. If you like leg day for braking, go with 15/16, if you like things a little easier, go 7/8"
  21. 818 FINALLY LISTED SOMEWHERE! Ive seen less than a handful of cars my color, here is my 69 And another member in our local club with a 69 2 door.
  22. Depending on your desired ride height, sometimes the tube really does need to be shortened ad you mentioned. For a "slammed" 510 you'll pogo stick all day with stock struts, you also have that spring REALLY low on that perch... What I did with GC coilovers was trial and error, continually adjusting the spring collar upward till I got where I wanted. Hope you get the rest of the issues solved!
