  1. ALready have it torn down to that part, it definitely has never been rebuilt, varnish abound. ALso, how the hell do i get those setscrews out? Tried every size flathead and they all come away damaging them. I hit them with some pb blaster and will check on them tomorrow. I am "berrymans Chem-DIp" -ing every part as i remove it. This thing should run like a top when I am done with it!
  2. Hey folks, i recently picked up an 82 720 4x4 for use as my wood truck/snow truck. I live at 4000feet and 4wd is a necessity. Anyway, I was in the middle prepping the engine for a full tune up, all flexible hoses, all ignition bits, and clean up the carb when after i removed the carb, the "spraybar" for the secondary just fell out onto the floor. I noticed that even in hot weather the choke stayed shut as well. I have never disassembled this sort of carb before, I have torn a DCH 340 apart, but i cant use that on this because I have to pass CA smog. It has a DCR 342. Any tips on how to fix the spraybar? ANyone have a good cond 342 to sell???
  3. Hey folks, i need a complete DCR342 carb to fix my 720, cant do the weber, need to smog it. Would prefer recently rebuilt, but a known good runner that hasnt sat too long will do as well! Thanks!!!
  4. I was asking if using the higher numerical gears from a early 4wd 720 H190 (4.375) would help a hardbody 4cyl 2wd tow easier, and yes, 5th gear while towing is a BAD idea lol...
  5. Bah, knew it wouldnt be as easy as I hoped. Thanks!
  6. Hello folks, I am a new member here, I was referred to you guys for your knowledge of swapability in the Dat-San truck world by a member of the 510 Bluebirds email list. In the coming days I am probably going to be picking up a used 95 nissan hardbody pickup. Its a single cab short bed 2wd model, KA24E and 5 speed. I read on some forums (which have no user support) that the trucks still use the H190's with 3.73:1 gears. That being said, for a little more grunt could one not just swap in a 3rd member from a 4wd 720? 4.375:1? Eventually plan on building a tow bar for the 510 and low gears would help me thinks... Or is that too far of a change that will kill the overdrive? I believe the trans has the same gears as the 240SX trans??? Anyway, WAY ot being about a hardbody and all, but nissan related and in the end will help me build my 510! Thanks in advance!
