no problem man, but hey is there anything special about those 240 blocks? rarity? i was at the yard the other day and i saw a 240, i popped the hood expecting to see a ka24 but it was a z24, i dont know a whole lot about them, would the z24 be able to interchange with an l20b head as the z22's do?

anyone had a problem with them going bad causing the choke to fail? maybe i need one?

it may be good to double check the float settings to be sure they are correct, then you can move on to other options that might be causing your problem, hey your in charlotte? do you know where Whatever It Takes Tranny Shop Is?

sounds to me like either your float is inproperly adjusted, sunk, or the float needle is stuck open, you do not have to disassemble the carb to replace/adjust the float, simply remove the float window, as far as a carb kit i have used the walker kits with much success walker part number is 156168, available for 20 bucks at any oreilly auto parts (probably not in stock but can get it in 3 days or less) the hitachi carbs are fairly simple to work on and the carb kit comes with a worksheet i would recommend getting a gallon of carb dip made by berryman chemtool. its good shit and can be used over and over for carbs or any parts you have, it actually eats away the varnish in the passages instead of the carb spray the simply thins out dirt grease and sludge here is my carb after i used the kit and the dip on another note the carb kit comes with a new needle valve and instructions to adjust the float correctly, the kit is uviversal with extra gaskets for other models of hitachi carbs so you wont use all of the parts

yep thats the dash, i guess that means its a 68!! if i remember right the cars dash is in pretty decent shape, hell if i dont ever get around to fixing the car maybe i will part it to fix my 620

hey can one of you guys post up pictures of the 2 different dash styles, my grandpa has a 510 4 door that i could have in 5 minutes all i have to do is go get it but the only thing is he bought it to fix about 20 years ago and it has no motor (i already have the motor for it :rolleyes:) and its been sitting forever!!!, it actually doesnt look tooo bad and i will probably end up getting it but i dont have a place to put it right now, i have no way to tell the year because its piled under a bunch shit so i can barely get like the drivers door open, it does have rust but it could be fixed with a little tlc, but the reason i need the dash pics is because i think its a real early model, whats the deal with the early models anyways? i know alot of you dime guys drool over 68's and such, did they just not make many of them or what?

yeah the trush is super quiet (to me) it is a tiny bit rumby behind the truck but inside the truck it is super quiet, when i really get into working on this thing i will buy several different mufflers and try them out and see which one i like the best (i work at a parts house so i can take damn near anything back!!! ha ha) but if you want quiet but a subtle rumble try a thrush turbo, as for sound i give it a 3 out of 5, as for durability, i guess we will see
