  1. The thing to remember about peel and seal is only need 25% coverage on a panel to reduce vibration and bring the vibration tone down. On Datsun doors there are also crash panels inside. If you put Butyl tape into the crevices of these crash panels it splits the doors outside skin into two panels lowering the vibration frequency. By reducing the resonance frequency you reduce the travel distance. You should pull you head liner and apply peel and seal to the inside of the roof along with some closed cell foam, this will reduce in cabin noise quite a bit. Reason I suggest the closed cell foam is because when its actually better at sound deadening than MLV, and on the datsun roof there is not enough room for both MVL and CCF. This worked quite well on my B210 Hatchback. All the noise I get is from that loud worn left rear wheel bearing.
  2. Crutchfield manufactures them with USB. Otherwise google search Car Stereo Shaft Style will get you hits. There are Alpines, Pioneer Supertuners on ebay. Best of all this link describes how to add USB to an Alpine 7164 Shaft Style stereo. www.bagotronix.com/alpine_7164_mod.pdf
  3. Rockauto has coil springs for the 210 from $58-$66.00 for pair. Just look under Nissan - 79 - 210, I looked under 1.5 L, the load height is 9". Alternatively you could get some from a junkyard. If the car just recently started rubbing the tires, its possible your shocks are worn out. Do ye olde bounce check and see if the car bounces several times or bounces up once and settles. If it bounces several times then the shocks are worn.
  4. The Rims look like American Racing Outlaw II's
  5. If you look at my rear windshield in the photo below you will see it is using a flat rubber mount. I had a shop do it in the modern style (hard mounted to body). You would use something like Power Primerless Urethane to hold the rubber in. Works fine, I have not had any issues with it, and I do like the flat rubber look better. Hit up and auto glass shop and ask them about rubber, I am sure a Glass Shop could figure it out.
  6. BP Projects Strut Brace fit Datsun 210 (KB310) $150.00 Shipping is from Tucson AZ The mounts will fit a B210, the rod would need to be trimmed down about 2 inches.

    What Next?

New Sway Bar Bushings and Urethane End Link bushings will make a difference. As old as the car is, pull the stock strut cartrides and rebuilld them (new fluid). This will stiffen it back up a bit and improve the ride. Before you go making major changes be sure your front end parts do not have any wear to them (tie-rods, ball joints). You can also get some urethane TC bushings (but not sure what effect this would have on handling). You might also consider having a strut brace made or purchasing one.
  8. I know ACS out on Illinois Ave here in Tucson has some 210's (B310) hatchback and coupe with good glass. Not sure I would want to try removing it though as it would most likely break. Other option is there is a shop here in Tucson that can get modern style 3 layer windshields that fit our cars for about $150.00 up from mexico. The shop is Auto Glass Dist. (520) 573-1616. Jorge Fimbres is the Owner.
  9. Chin Spoiler, I saw one on a mid-70s VW Rabbit that was up here in Tucson from Mexico. The owner actually makes those out of plastic. He qouted me about $30 for one, but said it might go $50.00. Web Site from his business card is listed below, but I do not see the chin spoilers on the site. http://www.torqueautoperformance.mx/
  10. This is going to sound really really dumb even to me. However I had a similar issue going home one day, changed the fuel filter and all was fine.
  11. I was actually considering drilling out the shocks on mine, knocking them in to pull the stock bumper in closer and doing some serious cutting the stock U.S. bumper. Just have never gotten around to to it. I live in an apartment, no space no tool. Blah!
  12. Carpet looks good. Feels nice having better carpet in there don't it, even if the fit is slightly off.
  13. Porsche Silver Blue is a cool color. My B210 is a Gaurdian Blue Metallic with Pearl in the Clear Coat.
  14. By opening up the system air could become trapped as ggzilla mentions. Also you have had to top the system off afterwards and could have caused an incorrect mixture. At most it should be 50/50, but you are usually better off with a 70/30 coolant to water mixture. Also, overtime coolant develops an electrical charge which causes a break down in the molecular structure of the reducing cooling efficiency. 1) Run the car to operating temperature with radiator cap off, see if there is flow. If there is then the water pump and thermostat are operating correctly. 2) You could do a complete fluid change, but if you are going to go this far, then you might as well change the hoses too. 3) Another possibility is how you routed the heater hose. Did you block off the hose at the back of the head or did you return it to the inlet side on the motor. If you returned it to the inlet side of the motor you are now missing hotter coolant in with the cooler coolant coming from the radiator and this can cause overheating. When bypassing a heater core you either shut off flow so all the fluid is flowing through the head to the radiator or have a separate line going forward to the radiator.
  15. I doubt the dash is mounted any less securely than my B210 which was mounted with screws both up front top and all the way up in back (underside). I would suggest a shop manual for showing the dash pad removal, sticking your head/hand up back there and looking or remove the Dash entire to remove it. For dash pad repair, grind down any cracked upraise plastic areas, fill in with bondo and sand smooth to shape. Get some Vinyl of the color/pattern you want and glue it to the dash pad, tuck the edges up under.
  16. I purchased interior carpet from StockInteriors.com also, the Tunnel area was too big (like they used an automatic floor pan rather than a standard b210 [different tunnel sizes]). Otherwise it fit fairly well. I did take a heat gun to the back side of the carpet to help it resume its correct shape. If you get it from stockinteriors avoid the mass back, just get the carpet. Get some closed cell foam from Lowes instead (3' wide about $5 a foot), they have a matting designed for standing on in work shops (supposed to help rest the feet) that works quite well as a sound deadener and being closed cell foam its water proof. The foam is also much easer to cut than mass back and with no Mass Back on the carpet it will be easier to cut to fit.
  17. ACS here in Tucson (google search, ACS Tucson [address will be on illinois avenue]) has some 210's, parts could probably be had from them for the interior. Flares can be obtained from Japan, not sure from whom. If you check the 210 build thread in the B210 forum someone there just obtained flares for his 210. The gas shocks for the hatch wear really fast, the best bet is to buy new from ebay. I met a person up from Mexico who qouted me $30 for a chin spoiler to fit my B210. The window handles I think I have some lying around (the only question would be Where). Straight upgrade on brakes, is a 280zx strut with the 210 perch welded on and use the 210 coil spring. You can adjust the perch for the ride height you want, but make sure you know what strut inserts you will be using.
  18. I have the internal under dash parts (no dehydrator), the external front radiator, a compressor (not sure if it works) and the compressor mounts. Let me know if you are interested, otherwise I will drop the parts off at the recycling center. Will hold the parts for a few days. The under dash parts are disassbled, some assembly required.
  19. I ground all of the sharp edges off of mine where the vinyl had broken and peeled upwards. Used the expanding foam to till, shaped it then bondo over. Smoothed out the bondo, sand/clean the vinyl and then glue vinyl cloth over it. Once the glue has set, use a heat gun and stretch the vinyl along the edges and glue or staple in place underneath. I did want smoother edges so I put a thin foam pad under the vinyl cloth.
  20. LED Break Lights, $20.00 at O'Reilly for a set. Them suckers are so bright when the break is on I can use them to back up the car. If the person does not see at that point then they really need to get off the road. With that said, see a chiropractor. Can run up to 7k in adjustments over a 3 month period to get everything right in your back, but the Insurance company should have to pay for it. You can check the laws in your state but here in Arizona previous accidents cannot be taken into account when determining compensation for a collision. If that sort of Law exist in your state then whatever it takes for the Chiropractor to restore flexibility to your back her Insurance must cover. Not sure how the fused back will fit into it though. Might even be a good idea to see an accident lawyer.
  21. That transmission if its the FS5W60A is used in Sprite/Midget conversions. Rivergate Restoration is located in Sale Creek TN, here is there website. Rivergate Contact them about parts to repair your transmission.
  22. Currently riding high on my seats because the rails I have and seat bottoms are from my 78. I accidentally trashed the ones from the 75. I need the rails for the flat bottomed seats 73-75 not the rails for the odd shaped seats that clear the Catalytic Converter hump.
  23. I have an FS5W60A out of a 210 and am using the shifter from my B210 4-Speed tranny just fine. I used brass bushings for a Z-Shifter on it, just had to file down some of the cap area to allow enough clearance for the shifter to slot in.
