dscottdatsun
When I put the 720 springs on my 620, I just used the exsisting hardware. From all the reading in other posts on ratsun (research  ), the 521 should be the same. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I think Lorn said it's for his 510- goon. Top spring may not be the correct length as the trucks is all. Just add leaves below it. Quote Link to comment
Loren O
This set of springs are for my '72 521 project. I went back & got the shackles the other day,but they're pretty bent from someone useing them as tow hookup points when pulling the 720 4x4 from wherever it was stuck at. I don't know if they can be straightened or not. I found a set of bushings (both types ) for the 720 springs, will they work on the 521 conversion? As for using the 720 4x4 springs on my goon, that might happen sometime in the future, probably like Datzenmike suggested, but getting the 521 ready for daily driver status will have to happen first. Thanks for the advice,&info everyone,i'll keep following this topic. Quote Link to comment
Bad2thebone
I have a 1972 620 datsun. What year from the 720 4x4 pickup rear leafs springs will fit for my 620 truck. From what year to what year for the 720 I must find in order to lower my 620 truck thanks. Also shackles must be from the 720 and use it for the 620 or I can use the 620 shackles with the 720 rear leafs. What type of bushings should I get the anyone knows the part number ? datzenmike
Pretty sure any year will work. All 520/521/620/720 springs are the same length and width. They come in a variety of stiffness, arches and number of leaves. 4X4 springs are slightly stiffer but have less arch than the 2wd. 1 Quote Link to comment

Ok there's s guy going to part out his truck a 720 forgot what year it was but I'm going to get the rear leafsprings from his 4x4 720 truck. Do I need to remove and use the 720 shackles as well or I'm ok to use the stock shackles from my 1972 datsun 620 truck? All 720's 4x4 from all years( USA only ) comes with 4 leafs each side or 3 leafs? Quote Link to comment

Use your shackles, but you might have to mod the bushings to fit, just get everything(leafs/shackles/bushings and make it work. Quote Link to comment
skyblue
I did the swap to my 521 today. Here's what I learned. The leafs: You have to grind of these pads from the 720 4x4 leafs cause they ugly and they will scrape on stiff. According to sources. The shackles: For the 521 use the 521 shackles. The bushings: I replaced the top shackle bushing with whiteline W73252. http://www.whitelinesuspensionparts.com/w73252 When I bought the leafs it had poly bushings which I thought were correct for the lower shackle bushing. But I was wrong. The O.D. was right. But the I.D. was waay to small. I think these bushings are for 720 or 620. So I reused the 521 bushing until I can find a replacement or drill out the poly ones. Then there's the front eye bushing. The poly bushing that came with the 720 4x4 leafs was also wrong. The O.D. was correct, but the I.D. was too big for the 521 bolt. Or its missing a sleeve. Can you buy just sleeves?or Again I think this bushing is for 720 or 620. I ended up using the poly bushing for the front eye because the 521 bushing looks like it was pressed in and there was no way I was gonna get that out. Gonna use the poly until i get the ones I ordered. Which I hope are correct and that they come soon. with canby closing in the loose bushing sketches me out. I ordered Whitline W71055 http://www.whitelinesuspensionparts.com/w71055_rear Progress pics 521 on top 720 4x4 on bottom Done I will say I'm also using 3 in. Blocks Anyone need stock 521 leaf packs? 2 Quote Link to comment

gene knight
on a 521 you will need to use the shackles from it when swapping out the stock 521 leaf springs and using the 720 4x4 leaf springs and the front bushing on the 521 leaf spring set is pressed in and you can use the 720 bushings but the bolt from 521 in front is a different I.D. than a 720 so if you can find a metal sleeve for that bolt then you can use the 720 bushings. right now i am using the 720 bushings on my 521 until i get GRIMACE (my 521) over to the suspension shop. hope this info helps 1 Quote Link to comment
Anderson521
So I'm looking to get a set of these shipped and do any of you guys know how much they weigh? 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
40 lbs each almost exactly. I shipped a set just a couple weeks ago from Utah to Cali. Fedex was cheapest (without going greyhound etc). Shipped for about $38ish a piece. 1 Quote Link to comment
2wheel-lee
80 pounds, as Lockleaf said. 1 Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
80 pounds, as Lockleaf said. Looks just like the set I received :p 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
I shipped mine individually. I was afraid that much mass would tear the two apart and one end up lost. That happened to a set of rims I sent Wayno. one rim tore out of the box. Usps just taped up the hole and sent it on its way, minus that rim... 1 Quote Link to comment

Before receiving these springs, I'd have thought the same. However, after receiving these and the effort to cut open the packaging, that wrap really held them together well. With the way they felt at first, I thought they were going to be bolted or securing wired together, but nothing - only the wrap. Quote Link to comment
