phatdave
So if you have seen my 620 on another website, bear with me. Those who haven't...this was my Dads in the 80's. It was sold years ago and I found the owner, after setting for 13 years I got it back. I have a L20,U67,header,SU manifold,280z 5speed. I am still in the process of getting it together. phatdave
OKAY!!! I just bought a rolled 1974 620 that has a 327 small block with headers, Holley 650? carb and Mallory etc..all the goodies with a Turbo 350 auto? for 500.00 bucks. Looks like the old 73 might be getting some serious go fast. He drove it the last 2 years so everyting seems to be cool.... Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Ha ha, they call it a 'small block', but how did they get it in without cutting the firewall? I looked at this with a 305 and it was 6-8" too long, or no room for rad, so I scrapped the idea. I didn't have the ca$h for a switch to serpentine belt system and short water pump. Can you post a picture? Does it have duals? Rear ratio? Weight to horsepower must be near 11 to 1 or better. Quote Link to comment

Not much for V8 swaps (it's just too easy, I like a challenge) but I'm also not into 620s either so I say go for it. Lates Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Ya just hit the gas and it's on it's roof lol Quote Link to comment
Bleach
just hit the gas and you're running on empty... Quote Link to comment
phatdave
Okay then...I just resold it for a tidy profit and I will stick with plan "A" The L20b...etc! My Old parts 620 had an after market gas tank that Doug..'Aholic saw and we think it is about 20-25 gallons. It is for sale or trade if anybody is interested... Quote Link to comment
phatdave
I need some clutch info here. I gave my resurfaced flywheel to the mechanic at work. He was going to a local parts place called OTTS friction...mostly semi parts but they can get anything friction. Well the cat at OTTS says there are 2 0r 3 different clutches for the 225mm flywheel that I have and also that the maching shop botched the flywheel resurface job as it is not level disc surface to pressure plate surface being different? HELP!? Quote Link to comment
71-521
should be a stepped clutch surface if I remember right... something like .006 below the outer surface.... Quote Link to comment
Icehouse
Yeah nissan is weird about the steep.. I've heard people not doing the steep. Wouldn't it just increase the pressure? Quote Link to comment
phatdave
Yes,thats what the Otts guy called it. A stepped clutch. Quote Link to comment
phatdave
So are there different clutch set-ups for the 225mm flywheel? Quote Link to comment
Bleach
as far as aftermarket? Not much or any that I know of. Most of the aftermarket supports the 240mm because it was used in many more cars. stock 225mm should be fine though Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
should be a stepped clutch surface if I remember right...something like .006 below the outer surface.... .006 is like the thickness of two pieces of news print, it can't matter. Now .060 might be different. Quote Link to comment
71-521
I do remember the machine shop guy saying "6 hundredths" was almost not worth shaving off...did I type it wrong? still to turn my flywheel and replace the ring gear it was only 65 bucks... Quote Link to comment
71-521
looking at it, I think what I typed was "thousandths" oops! Quote Link to comment
phatdave
So any after market clutch made for a Datsun 225mm f.w. will work? Anybody? Quote Link to comment
