Valvebounce
Hey guys, Just wondering if the USDM 620's had the once piece door glass, the two piece with the opening quarter window, or if the came with both options? Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
One piece in the US. Quote Link to comment
Valvebounce
I'm thinking of finding some, and importing it to NZ. I don't like the quarter windows on mine. The only one piece ones I've seen here were on LHD trucks. Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Never liked the 'wing windows'. They whistle from the wind, leak sometimes, entry point for a break in. Quote Link to comment
Draker
I'm sure there are a bunch of people willing to trade. Shipping to NZ would be a big MOFO though. Quote Link to comment

Draker
30 MPH "free air conditioning." He's got a point... Also the wing windows can cause a bit of a blind spot in your mirrors. Ask a 521. Quote Link to comment
distributorguy
There are enough rusted out doors floating around that you should be able to find all the hardware to go with the glass as well. Shipping to OZ or NZ isn't difficult, just expensive. Probably around $125 US for the parts you want. Quote Link to comment

windowless66
Makes no difference safety wise, You can open both the quarter vents or the interior door lock knob with a stiff bent coat hanger. You'd need junkie arms to reach the lock if you had the quarter vent open...But I suppose they are the people that would be stealing it anyway. Quarter windows are good in light rain especially if its humid, and they just give you a bit more regulation on the cab airflow ......if the rubbers are good. I'm a bit biased though :P 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
The vent windows get smashed without smashing the whole glass was my point. My 521 whistled until it rained a few times then it was sealed with dust or? then I didn't open it again. My Dodge windows were terrible. Just not a fan. 1 Quote Link to comment
windowless66
Yeah smashing them is always an option :P I had a 66 HR holden and thieves smashed my rear quarter window to get in :/ They only took my phone and beanie. Cops caught them I fixed the window so pretty much a happy ending. I'll give you one thing against the front quarter windows the rubbers are not cheap to replace. Quote Link to comment
Valvebounce
I'm sure I've seen replacement rubbers for them on fleabay. None of that Thai repro stuff seems too dear. 1 Quote Link to comment

Yeah its a bit of you get what you pay for. They are about $40 dollars a pair delivered but I've heard they don't last long, and I'd guess fitment would be a bit of a gamble. Quote Link to comment
Dockruzic
I would be interested in the vent Windows. Some years ago I had finally afforded to one pc my 63 beetle Windows, went two months, and bought new doors to get the vents back. Hated the no air flow 1 Quote Link to comment
