So what your saying is we don't need to pull off all our wheels, And put mirrors under it. Oh and put dead dummies in our cars. Like at Nissan Jam.....

If there was a "worst presented vehicle" award, that would have got it.

Every year it's the same shit. I don't remember going in the canby thread and bashing it. Don't come if you don't want to,it's that simple.JCCS sucks so bad they fill the show and overflow every year but your right it's not as good as canby.

Their biased judges are ridiculous. JCCS will never be as cool as Canby. They will never give out anything more than a cheap award placard. I'll change my opinion about JCCS when they raffle off a badass restored vehicle. Until then...

I attended the digital trip :)

I sat in the 510 that Friday knowing dozens of others were driving their Datsuns to go have fun.

By the way this show is JCCS for Japanese classic car show kids.

It's not DCCS for Datsun classic car show it's all Japanese cars. So if you don't like other Japanese cars then this really ain't the show for you.. So there's no reason to always put the negative comments.

Also maybe Southern California should do a so called canby, I guess the only problem is finding a place to hold all the Datsuns.

Seems like it to me. It's the 11th year and they still have no camping and no you. Ant sell your parts also..It's a show that lasts for about 5 hours and we all go home.

Eldorado park is pretty huge

But do they allow camping and swap meets? I think Prado park does and I know every year the VW boys ( don't get mad kids) go there for a camp out also. Actually about this time of year.. I know they do the the Bus cruise to Lake Havasu to the bridge.

Why don't you get this organized right away..lol and throw in a raffle of some sort.lol

For many years Knott's Berry Farm held an expo of kit cars on the lawn of the repro Independence Hall which is across the freeway from the main attractions and a great place to congregate with like minded people.

I thought that was funny. Kinda how I feel after driving in the heat in a car with no a/c.

Still trying to decide if I want to go to JCCS for the first time or not.

if you have never been I would go and then decide for yourself  to go again or not

I had fun last year and it was a good show

From what I've seen, the "finish" on your car isn't nearly as important as the quality of the work that is done to the car. You won't see things with license plate brake master heat shields and intake runners that run through a hole cut in the hood of your car.

That being said, the above is something that I find incredibly entertaining, both as a shock, humor, and just overall "fuckit" attitude. But, most of us on Ratsun represent a pretty niche market. Canby is a niche show, it just happens to cater to those of us who truly have unfinished work. It's almost more about the experience and people than the actual show.

JCCS is a true car show, and they try to filter a little bit of niche out of it to make it more mainstream. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion, but you'd find me in the parking lots for a good chunk of time taking photos of the cool shit that DIDN'T get in.

That's not to say I'd be a little miffed if I sent them a picture of my car with a description of what I've done and they didn't let me in, that'd bug the hell out of me. Mismatched body panels are simply the surface of a car that has a lot of thought and effort poured into it, and what it was built for (daily driving and autocross) shows up in the appearance. If I don't get in I'll just park it in the lot and enjoy the "Why isn't this in the show?" comments people make when they see it.
