paradime
Just picked this up for $200. Converting it to Lithium ion 36v 30ah for a range of about 25 miles at 30mph. As my 510 collects dust. I know, Shame on me 1 Quote Link to comment
wayno
There is one of these for sale locally, they want $600.00 and don't really say much about it, just the literature/specs about it. paradime
The batteries that came with these are 36V nicads and have limited range and charge cycles. It also has issues with the firmware corrupting. Mine is corrupted and inoperable, but there is a fix. To make it a reliable get around ebike it really needs lithium batteries and uploaded with newer firmware. I sourced this stuff before buying it and it's pricy. That's why I offered what I did. Ping makes custom built lith ion battery packs around $600 with charger. There is a company selling a re-flash module for it for $100. I know, sounds like a lot, but that gets you over 4000 charge cycles, twice the range of the nicad, and about $.05 of electricity to go 25-35 mile. A new ebike like this goes for $2 to $3k so I figure at under 1k it's worth it for my shitty commute. I got mine from a guy who had no idea what was wrong, or how to fix it. he just wanted it out of his garage, so... Likely the bike you are looking at has dead batteries, corrupted firmware and doesn't work. Use that against the seller and offer $300, or $400 if you want it. Some sites I found covering lithium mods and updating firmware. http://www.kanda.com/blog/general/resurrecting-voloci-electric-motorbike/ http://tulrich.com/voloci/ http://www.intalek.com/Index/Projects/SmartPAK_xPOD/eBike/nimh_voloci_manual.pdf Quote Link to comment
