Mattndew76
I will post a link to classifieds when ready. It will have a cap and NPT threaded vent. I should add that it will be 15$ for the cap portion too. I buy those separate. 1 Quote Link to comment
Kirden
Nice! Sorry for all the questions, I think a lot of us have been looking for these for a while. Those Tomei ones are just outrageous IMO. Quote Link to comment
Mattndew76
I haven't seen how much the Tomei covers are Quote Link to comment
Kirden
The last one I saw for sale was up for $1100 on ebay... That's more than I paid for both of the B210s combined... Quote Link to comment
Mattndew76
Wow. Too much for a cover. But when you win races with a name then people pay big just to look like the racers 1 Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
This makes me so happy.   1200 Rocker Cover 1 Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
I'm not completely sure if the A14/A15 rocker covers have the same pattern as the A12 (Datsunfreak/ggzilla to the rescue?) but if so, I'd be interested in one. All A-series engines use the same bolt pattern/gasket. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
These Rocker Covers will most likely fund the remainder of my 1200 budget. Then they go away never to be made again by me. Damn. Guess I better order two. It will have a cap and NPT threaded vent. I should add that it will be 15$ for the cap portion too. I buy those separate. Are you talking about a weld-in threaded bung for the cap? Quote Link to comment
Kirden
Thanks DF! Hope I can catch one when they hit the market  Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Oh and I will not do custom badging or designs. Rough cast top or smooth? It will have a cap and NPT threaded vent. I should add that it will be 15$ for the cap portion too. I buy those separate. Guessing no internal baffle? Quote Link to comment
Mattndew76
The oils cap and bung are machined seperate. 3 Quote Link to comment
KiloTango1200
OK, now I gotta have one! 1 Quote Link to comment
graveltrapp
CNC should make it a breeze. Draw up in Mastercam with or without baffle, vent locations, or any other mods and push play. have you figured out what alloy you will use? looks like a really cool project. How's your mill running? Mattndew76
6061 aluminum. Mill is running great now. You can figure out how to baffle or just make a burp can. 1 Quote Link to comment
njoz1200ute
Is the custom rocker cover all for bling or does it actually have a performance bonus to it? I just have never understood the lure for one. I am happy with my standard A series one. Just curious that is all. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
It is quieter. Also seals better than a stamped steel cover. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
This. It is quieter. Also seals better than a stamped steel cover It is damn near impossible to make the steel one not seep/leak. And the bling don't hurt. B) Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
You can figure out how to baffle or just make a burp can. Baffle would be nice, but a billet catch can would really tie the room together... B) 1 Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Think it'll be tall enough to install that bung upside down for a flusher cap? The oils cap and bung are machined seperate. Quote Link to comment
Mattndew76
Performance mod advantage = My stuff looks better :D 3 Quote Link to comment
Mattndew76
If you want to try to flip it over you can and let me know how it goes. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Didn't mean to sound ungrateful. ^_^ Quote Link to comment
Kirden
Looks perfect to me! Now to make sure the red ratsun oil cap will fit :P As far as performance, other than the seepage advantage, these probably won't show much difference compared to stamped steel. However, for those going forced induction or higher compression, it's possibly a good insurance policy againce busted rocker cover gaskets. The way I see it, anything that potentially prevents an oil leak is worth the investment. It doesn't hurt that they look amazing either  Loving your project so far Mattndew76. I probably missed it, but have you decided on a color? Quote Link to comment
