EastBay521
I was going to get the steering set up from Clive but when I asked for his info he took like 2months to reply and had spent the money by then Quote Link to comment
wayno
Wayno did you get it from Clive. I just went in and looked at the shipping box, yes I bought it from Clive. I am now thinking I should have bought the steering gear also, I should have had him cut the column off about 4 inches above the gear and had him ship it. I am having a really hard time finding the RHD 720 power steering gear I want, but I might have another guy looking for me over there, I am starting to think they didn't make them in RHD. 1 Quote Link to comment
Rocket Dog
Will a 620 windshield fit a 521? I see a lot of good 620 glass in the local junk yards. No. 1 Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Pilkington sells 521 glass (japan made) for $300, + shipping and got a shipment last May. They might still have some left. 1 Quote Link to comment
Rocket Dog
I bought two 521 windshields last year from Pilkington Classic Auto. About 300 bucks apiece delivered. * EDIT * Yes they ship them in batches, so I had to wait a few weeks to get mine. I had it delivered to an intermediate location in my area because they come off the truck in a big wood crate. The site I had them delivered to (a warehouse in Sacramento) where they unboxed the windshield and inspected it, even gave me some packing material to carry it home in. Nice. 1 Quote Link to comment

71Hustler
While I appreciated the idea from a different thread of always driving away from the sun in my 521 rather than towards it, I am looking for a new windshield. The husband is expressing safety concerns since the haze from the delamination problem is pretty bad across the whole windshield. In any case, as an update on this thread: I emailed Ross from sportsimports.ca and he replied that he doesn't have any 521 windshields available. I asked how many commitments it would take for him to pursue it, but no reply as of yet. I'm also still waiting to hear back from Pilkington. 1 Quote Link to comment

I have one coming from him...but it's been delayed since I'm trying to save some money and have it shipped with some other peoples' windshields. 720inOlyWa
Wayno is so right... there is nothing like a new windshield. The older the truck, the more difference it makes, qualitatively, to look out trough fresh glass. I use the windshield replacement as a mid-resto inspiration point. A new windshield makes any rig seem like it is on the way back to glory. It is a safety item as well. A new windshield is the one thing- besides upholstery- that I will always splurge for. It is worth it. Just sayin’... Quote Link to comment

datsunrides
FYI, Pilkington will ship 2 windshields in the same box for $125. If someone else local needs one also, you can share the cost and save a little coin. Mark 1 Quote Link to comment
