carterb
Nasty stuff! Is there anything that works for safely removing it from weatherstripping and/or paint? I've got a couple fingerprints I'd like to clean up. --carter Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
It's just contact cement isn't it? Rub with your thumb and it should roll up. Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
It's just contact cement isn't it? Rub with your thumb and it should roll up. Not quite! It's familiarly called Gorilla Snot. Quote Link to comment
KlassicMotion
They now make it in Black color too. I'd try...... "Adhesive Remover", or if it's on a modern Urethane paint job, Acetone will take it off and not hurt the paint. I just used Acetone on my 2010 to get tree sap off. On the safe side, as far as not harming paint; Lighter Fluid sometimes works, as well as DX330 (Wax and Grease Remover/ Paint Prep). Also, non-clorinated Brake Cleaner... I buy the Wearever Brand from Advance Auto. Quote Link to comment
captaingamez
Are you talking about 3M 08090? That stuff is nasty, terrible stuff. Thats why I shell out $23 a can for it!!!, lol. I have no idea how to get it off though, its made to put on vinyl tops. Quote Link to comment
tr8er
rub orange peel on it. Not that it will work, but it'll smell great and you can eat an orange. Plus if it works, I get an internet point. 1 Quote Link to comment
cruznude
Try all of the above and if none of that works well, paint over it! Ha! Good luck......... Quote Link to comment
john510
WD-40 on a rag, wont hurt the paint unless the paint is junk. 1 Quote Link to comment

Fat510
Try some Methyl Ethyl Ketone Quote Link to comment
captaingamez
MEK would probably work, Goof Off works, but you need to be careful, as the Goof off evaporates quickly and can end up spreading the gunk around. I am having to remove a few small bits from my headliner inside. Quote Link to comment
HEATHEN
The release agent stiff works great. As a tech I have had the unfortunate experience of replacing alot of 1980's camaro t-top weatherstrips. If you let the chemical do the work meaning spray it on let it sit and then start working you will have much better end results. Just my 2 cents. Quote Link to comment
carterb
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I haven't tried any of them yet, but I am suddenly hungry for oranges... --carter Quote Link to comment
