Is it feeling a little chilly?

Recommended Posts

Motor appears to be inside the cab. Slow operation is usually bad pivots. Pivots are the posts that stick up through the cowl. They have a sleeve that gets worn or the rubber seal rots from the sun... dirt and water get in and they get tight. I took my 620 ones apart and lithium greased them. Have a care with the two tiny 8mm? nuts holding them on they get rusty and snap the studs off... then it doesn't matter if the wiper work or not

It seems as though I have earned a new user title.

Just went out to play with the wiper arms.
Seems the driver's side is a bit loose.
Took the bolt off with my finders.

Snugged it down-checked the passenger side's as well.
Seems the whole passenger side pivot is loose from inside.

I want to fix it-but I don't want to tear it apart to put it back together just to take it apart again later.
My sales manager at work is expecting to see this at work tomorrow.

I have a 4 day weekend next weekend.
I will do more work when I can have projects spaced out.

Oh. But it does.

Owner BOLTED it perfectly in between pos and neg cables. Yes, bolted in.

And it also covers the gaping hole in the lower dash he installed it in to.

Gotta wait to get my meter to verify that it is now a pointless accessory.

So will a KA.

If I stay Z, I will go LZ22. Loved that motor.

On that note, I have a full LZ swap set sitting here.

L head. L20B cover, chains, new HG, and set of SUs.

They all belong to other people-but they are here.

My first big adventure will be installing a third pedal and all the other parts.

No pics of the clam shell?

(Quote is from Redbanner. c/p'd from the dark side.)

Wasn't ready to talk about it yet-but I guess we get to now.

What. In. The. Fuck.

I don't know the story behind it-but this is what the car came with.

Some aftermarket ignition switch, hazard switch, and everything else that was on the shell or behind where this "art" is is connected to this damned thing.

The combo switch is also really, really fucked up. It is loose, broken, and very intermittent when it comes to the functions.

Needless to say, I need a combo switch assy and a clam shell like none other.

I am also keeping my eyes up for a new steering wheel and an entire dash assy.

Why? Why, dear God, why?

So...I have amassed 250 miles on this car since I have claimed ownership.

Been a great little car.
Being a dealership technician, part of what I do is squeaks and rattles, NVH.
I hate NVH. But I'm kinda good at it. So when my car rattles, it really drives me nuts.

The antenna was like this when I got it. Rattled the whole drive. It's rattled every drive I have had in it.

It took me a day or so to find the smallest one of these I could.

We use them for license plates. Tighten the screw. Spreads it's wings. Stays tight.

Well---the smallest one I could find was too big for where I wanted to put it.

With rudimentary tools on handI did what I could.

Not a perfect fit, but it is in the hole.

The starter in my POS is a POS itself.
Barely hits. Doesn't spin. Gotz to go.

I have a couple starters laying around, so I should be good...
but how do I know which starter is good if it's been sitting around my yard forever...  :D

That's how! Power Probe 3.
Anyone who does a fair share of electrical work/diagnosis needs this tool.
If you are a tech and don't have one, you are losing money!

OK. Not right now. I just home from work and the car is too hot.
Cool myself down with a beer as she cools down on her own.

I always just jump the starter with a battery to test. Does the prober work on any circuits?

Source, load, ground.

Damn near. I use it for tons of things.

It's better to think of it as a component tester rather than a circuit tester though.

There are tons of tricks with it though. Tons.

I have a really nice DVOM-I hardly ever touch the thing.
