Royal Sierra
But im gonna go just a little bit lower up front sto get rid of that wheel gap. Also gonna have to roll the rear quarters a tiny bit because the bed sides rub the tires if I put enough weight in the back. Once rolled it wont be a problem 1 Quote Link to comment

wayno
What won't be a problem? hitting the bump stups or riding like shit? He is saying that if he rolls the rear fenders the tires will not rub anymore even if he throws some shit in the box. He is one of them guys that wants it to look good, the ride is not that high on the list of things it needs. We all can get these trucks extremely low with a decent ride, but it's not easy. 1 Quote Link to comment
Royal Sierra
If I could make it ride nice and be as low as I want, Id do it. I dont have a garage or stuff to fabricate with so for now I'll just deal with it 1 Quote Link to comment
Royal Sierra
I got these sweet visors. Also part number 665-1057 from Napa is a good replacement for headlight retaining rings. 2 Quote Link to comment

Royal Sierra
Glad I could help the 521 guys out a little. Truck has been running great still. I have bad axle wrap now. The nipple (lol) on the top of the passenger side lowering block got sheard off. Easy fix. I'll just drill in a large allen head bolt like on the last truck. Never had any issues after I did that. Will fix when I get home from Alaska. Taking a week off because Anhueser-Busch has driven me absolutely fucking crazy and I can't stand it anymore. Heres a snow pic. 3 Quote Link to comment

Royal Sierra
Lost a radiator hose in OC coming up the hill. Scared the shit out of me. Pulled over, popped it back on, cranked it down and walked to 7/11 for water and antifreeze. Looked good just sitting there. Been running fine the last few hours. 2 Quote Link to comment

wayno
Too cold for me to be working outside today. You could have drove it on the hiway before, I have 437 gears like you had in my work truck and it goes down the freeway fine, but it does spend a lot of time around 4000rpms, but that don't bug me anymore, I like the grunt it has starting out. 1 Quote Link to comment

And yeah its cold as fuck and im in shorts and a t shirt. Hands started hurting right before we got done I was running around outside in my shorts today also, my new car/truck cover arrived today, I didn't last long out there, maybe 10 minutes and I was done being outside. That losing the feeling in the fingers is why I don't work outside when it is cold anymore, been doing that for years when pressure washing peoples houses, been there and done that too many times, don't need to do that no more unless something is broke, nothings broke right now. I have one or two of them 488 gearsets already, drag strip and circle track guys like them gears, and yours already has the 29 spline side gears, you should be able to sell them if you sell them for cheap enough, I did run 488 gears once a long time ago, had a shitload of grunt, but 65mph was about it. 1 Quote Link to comment
Royal Sierra
Yeah we were out from 11:30 to about 4. Was fun. Ran the truck so the exhaust would keep my hands warm haha. 1 Quote Link to comment

Royal Sierra
This new gear ratio is perfect. Its amazing being able to cruise on the freeway at 3k rpm. Its like a whole new truck. Dare I say possibly daily driver during the summer? 5 Quote Link to comment
DanielC
Even a pair of thin nitrile or latex gloves will make your hands a lot warmer than bare skin. Another trick to keep hands warmer is to dress to keep your body core too warm, and then your body is trying to get rid of heat by increasing blood flow to the extermities 3 Quote Link to comment
abbylind
Take a piss too.....your body is trying to keep your core body temperature up... piss takes up space and your body has to keep it warm Offload it and you"ll feel warmer! 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
abbylind does that work the same as with taking a dump, will he feel warmer if he leaves a big steamer? 2 Quote Link to comment
Royal Sierra
I poop all the time and can confirm that it does help warm you up. It's an old Alaskan trick. 1 Quote Link to comment
