dieseldog49 Posted April 15, 2013 Report Share Posted April 15, 2013 Well after pining for the past 6 years for a 510, I finally managed to get one. I sold my Samurai last month and I needed to get something good on gas and cheap to run and insure. I had looked at this 510 in February. It was in a little town about 60 miles away and when I had got there, it had developed a vacuum leak from sitting all winter. It fired but that was it. He said he had a bunch of parts to go with it. I offered him a strait trade for my samurai since the 510 wasn't drivable at the moment. He refused and we parted ways. About a month later I received a email from him asking if I still had the samurai, I told him I did not. That was 3 weeks ago. I sold my custom built computer last week and decided to hit him up and see if he still had the car. He did, he had been holding it for a friend at work but the dude flaked out. He had the car running now and I told him that I would come take a look at it today. I ended up getting it plus a entire full sized van full of parts :) Drove it home at 80mph, it goes like a stabbed rat :D . I have been lurking here for years and I cannot express how happy I am to finally have a reason to post! 3 Quote Link to comment

Thats one of the first things I need to fix, along with a small gas leak somewhere in the filler neck area and bleeding the brakes. More pics tomorrow, I have a ton of parts to go through, I will post pics and hopefully you guys can help me figure out what I have, what can go on my car and what can go out to other datsuns in need. Fiberglass fenders 240Z Struts I also have a 200zx engine tranny, wire harness combo that came with it. The car has a L20B Truck engine and a Dogleg 5 Speed out of a 79 ZX in it currently. The doglegs look different than the normal trannies, if you toss up a pic we can tell you immediately. The car looks like a nice base to work with though. All the extra parts are a bonus. Anyone know a easy way to put in a in trunk fuel filler neck? Mine is cracked and I cant find a replacement so I am gonna go to the pick'n'pull soon to try and find something that works. dieseldog49 Posted April 26, 2013 Author Report Share Posted April 26, 2013 Well first hiccup witht he 510, all of a sudden the battery isn't charging. It runs fine when jumped but the battery is defineatly not getting any juice back. Gonna trouble shoot it this weekend but any suggestions would be appreciated. Also are the all rubber and the rubber metal rubber filler necks interchangeable? Quote Link to comment

If volt reg is bad get the solid state ones. while at it get new cables. put + side of batt towards the rear . Quote Link to comment
