Eagle_Adam
the speedo stays at 0, but when you accelerate it wont go past 35 the temp gauge goes to hot within 30 sec of turning the truck on Quote Link to comment
Siqx20
My speedo does that too. I just hit the dash and it gets unstuck lol. Mine sticks at 45 Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
always nice after a shitty day to come out to a truck that wont start..... fuck Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
The cable on the speedo probably needs cleaned and greased. Temp is usually the sending unit before the dash, sounds like it is grounding out. Quote Link to comment
RedBanner
If your lights are staying on with the switch off then yeah its grounding out some where, thats what your dads truck did. I saw your fb post about the headlight switch. Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
ive got someone coming to jump my truck in 20 min or so, i think the lights stayed on cus the switch didnt get pushed in all the way Quote Link to comment

Eagle_Adam
truck started up first try, the head lights also came on....... pushed the switch a little and they turned off so ill have to take it apart and clean it, then if that still happens ill replace it Quote Link to comment
crackerjack69
Yeah those switches are tough, usually very dirty inside. I clean and lube with di-electric grease before I sell them. Works. What time you get off work? I'll be over there at my old house tomorrow cleanin out the garage. I got no phone atm. Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
I won't be free till Monday Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
This is where the temp gauge sits now Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
the light switch is the issue in regards to the dead battery, hasn't messed up since but i did catch the lights on even tho the switch was pushed in. But the truck still runs hot according tot he gauge, but nothing else would indicate its running hot Quote Link to comment
jrock4224
infrared temp gun th e hoses.....just to verify the gauge is acting funny but i agree the temp sender is a easy fix and only 7 bucks too ... u just got be fast threading and un threading ... unless your like tristin and just run no coolant on road trips...some times thread sealant can affect a reading too......i use a liquid thread sealant that i use for air fittings...
