I predict that KA24E will have about 140 HP (120 rwhp).

Are you talking about mine?  Thats probably about right. After gaining flow with my carbs I probably gained back what I lost in not having a proper efi tune. Who knows.

Specifications Stock Ka24e
  • Bore × Stroke: 89.0 × 96.0 mm
  • Max power: 140 hp (105 kW) @ 5600 rpm
  • Max torque: 152 lb·ft (206 Nm) @ 4400 rpm
  • Valve Configuration: SOHC, 12 valves
  • Compression ratio: 8.6:1 (9.1:1 for early 1989 240SX)

So what your sayin is your building a carb'd KA?!   I want build thread.

P.S.  I want to get my ka dynoed just to make sure I didn't loose HP lol  but seriously I would like to see what it does, just hate that the dynos are innacurate like people have been sayin.

Dynos are close enough. It's an indication of power and doesn't necessarily make you faster than someone with less power, assuming you both used the same dyno. Nor does it indicate how well the car will run. What it can tell you is if you are going in the right direction when tuning or adding a performance part. Many changes are subtle and not really noticeable like a small broad torque increase. On the other hand a dyno can be the ultimate arbiter of who has the most.

275 is a typo right? lol

275hp at 16lbs would be pretty sad since a s15 makes 250hp @ 7psi.
Should be more like 330-375 at over 1bar

The 1/4 time is off to me too unless it was a bad launch or something. A heavier 240sx runs under 12 sec with a sr @ 16lbs. I would think A lighter 510 would be low 11's at well over 300hp.

Seems really low, there are a ton of dynos and vids of sr20's at 16lb. They are all well over 300hp.

Not knocking the car or saying its not a blast or any shit worth arguing. Just that the numbers dont seem very good to me at all.

Yeah definitely not a pro at the lights and the 175 tires were spinning through 2nd hence the crappy 60ft.  That was my second and final time out to the 1/4 for the year (and ever).  I have replaced my clutch and tires but will not be back to the 1/4 until I upgrade axles.  I think low 12's are possible with more seat time.  Maybe get into the 11's if I got some drag tires.

I feel the 269hp will improve with upgraded injectors, bigger muffler, and the installation / tuning of my AEM Series2 EMS.  Goal is 325-350 on this turbo.

It is a blast to drive at the current spec and still returns 30+mpg on the highway.

I feel you missed my point ggzilla  but its really not imp.

bababooey good attitude. I'm sure you will reach that goal with that plan and break 12 sec easily too.

It must have felt good to spank that supra lol

Ya I bet 11' wth a good launch, especially if you evenc ome close to your hp goal.

THEN you'll be at proper supercar levels. 12-13sec is like 80s super car levels lol. The new Aventador runs the 1/4 in 10.5

Bet the old guy never saw it coming haha

Not really trying to go faster than 11.5 though, I do not want to install any kind of cage.

175's are gross haha.

The old man was a friend of a friend.  He was from supraforums and knew what was up.  I was stoked.  The next 2 and final runs I spun the clutch shifting into 3rd and times suffered.
