Atomic
So I'm about to do the rear fenders but there is a slight problem. With current height I would prefer the ride be, the connecting rods have very little playroom or they'll hit the body/axle: But yeah, I could modify the mounting points for the rods or something. Or just make the ride height a bit higher or get some stiff rear springs.. I made the rear fenders with same profile and level as the front ones  1 Quote Link to comment
fisch
Nothing wring with a little rake! But seriously, you are nothing if not creative and innovative. One of the most innovative I've seen on Ratsun, so I am sure you will figure it out! 2 Quote Link to comment

Atomic
Notch the frame rails where it hits? The problem is tho that in finland we have these % of the changes that are applied to the car when you modify it. And after 50% modification you need to pay some ridicilous tax of some sort. Currently I'm sitting in 47% for all the modifications that I have planned to do and if I were to modify the body it's going over that 50% :geek: ... But maybe I'm going to figure it out somehow 1 Quote Link to comment
Atomic
More pics: I'm going to adjust the rear of the fender differently when I have clear picture in my mind how I want it to look like. Prolly gonna make few cuts and bend it gently to match with original body lines, but gotta be careful not to make the fender look silly, i wanna keep the curves as smooth as possible. 1 Quote Link to comment
R.Whiteville
I´ve just got in this forum, and I´ve been reading this topic for hours... Atomic
Working on passenger side: Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Got it almost done. Ofc all the fenders need more work, but its nice to have them in place and see how they actually look. Going to ask tomorrow how much the rear tires would cost. Going to look something like 215/50 x 15 . For the front it was 195/50 x 15 So prolly going to clean some stuff tomorrow and then figure out what I want to do next. I could pull out the axle and finish the weldings and put in the springpads 1 Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Nothing special today. I might get some used 225/50 x 15 tires cheap, hopefully they will fit. Cleaned the garage a bit, no pics from that tho. But I took the passenger side door again and started to patch it up: Still needs some welding and grinding. But once I get this done I could repair the hood. And after that the drivers side door B) Gonna go to the summer cottage this weekend so no more pics until next week Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Got one of my 125cc bikes sold and got some project money from it, looking for ordering the water and oil lines for the turbo: Oil feed line comes with restriction nozzle suited for my turbo and journal bearings. Also got my eyes on complete lock set, because one of my door lock is busted and The passenger side door has different lock from the rest of the system, so I think it would be great to have one for all. And a complete FPR kit, black ofc. Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Nothing interesting to post so I'm gonna put the item list here, might miss some items + it also has some machining job prices in it So about 5k USD spent so far   Quote Link to comment

Atomic
Some pics: So I repaired the hood, it still has some small rust holes, need to do something about them. Got the rear axle out again and welded it ready and tack welded the spring pads on it. Also started to clean out some parts and painted the pedal system (no pics from that tho) My university starts soon again and I'll be asking if I can use some equipment that they have there to weld my intake manifold and the tranny casing. Atomic
So I had to change the tire sizes to 195/45 front and 195/50 rear. The front tires were hitting the fenders a bit when I had 195/50. And as someone said, nothing wrong with little rake...  This is with the stock springs. I need to find some springs that bring the rear down at least 75-90mm Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Lowered: Gonna work with the steering parts a bit and then move to the metal works again probably. Note that the rear is going to go lower by 10-20mm when the gas tank and battery are installed to the trunk 2 Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Machined the exhaust manifold finally: 1 Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Got myself a dashlid, shoutout to Germ_555 B) Going to either put another vinyl when cleaned, or just paint with solid color. Would prefer with vinyl wood replica thingy, as it's the same as in the center console. Now I can start planning where/how do i put my gauges etc Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Not too many pictures to add, been busy with real life stuff. I'm moving next weekend and I need to fix myself a winter car. But here is something atleast: 1 Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Huh, it's 2017 already and the car is still not ready   I have been busy with moving around and university is taking the time. But I ordered some new parts for datsun and got more welding gas so I try to get to work again with bodywork etc. I'm also having a welding course so I'm trying to combine that with welding the tranny to the motor adapter. Also going to try if I can weld the turbo downpipe there too (because they have tools for stainless steel and aluminium). I would also like to refurbish the radiator but It's a bit costly. I need to look if I could DIY it. Quote Link to comment
