DatMo
Made some door panels and kicker panels! They're finally done! Thanks to the brother for teaching me and being great. haha I still have to do the rear door panels but here are the front in place. all for $30! Here are the kicker panels. They aren't inside because i couldn't get a decent picture with the lighting. they look a little lumpy but they're better in person. Quote Link to comment

510T
Panels look great! How did you affix the vinyl to the panel? I ask because I made some and used 3m spray glue, which is not holding too well. Quote Link to comment

I ask because I made some and used 3m spray glue, which is not holding too well. thanks! i actually used the same thing but the poly foam helped out a lot. I sprayed the foam to the board, then form the board to the vinyl. then i stapled the back with the smallest staples i could find and sanded em down to the size of staples i found on the original panel. 510T
Aha! I need some staples, thanks for the reply! Quote Link to comment
DatMo
Aha! I need some staples, thanks for the reply! no worries! MAKE SURE YOU GRIND THE STAPLES! if you don;'t they'll poke through and look shitty. I messed up at a corner but thankfully it was early on to fix. And if your board is too big, make sure you make a bit smaller so when the vinyl wraps around, it will not grow too much in size but be able to fit when the door closes. Quote Link to comment
DatMo
my carpet kit came in and I'm buying some 2 point harnesses tonight. I won't be installing any of it because I plan to gut the car and paint all the floor panels with leak seal. I'll leave the tunnel alone so I can get it fixed by mario. then i'll get some of that car cushion and then the capret goes on. but in about a month, I'll be heading to marios so he can fix the tunnel. DatMo
anyone ever try these out? http://www.ebay.com/itm/DATSUN-510-SSS-4-DOORS-WEATHER-STRIP-SEAL-RUBBER-4PCS-/160555862172 and i plan to get the car done to my satisfaction before taking it out and what not. The car does run. but I don't have a real need to drive anywhere besides occasional joy rides. but i haven't taken it out since I just got the radiator. anyone know any good weather stripping? I need everything besides my front window. :( cheap would be good! but good quality? an economically good one? Quote Link to comment
DatMo
So i had enough time today to sand my floors and paint them with leak seal. I got to primer them and I'm actually oging to paint them right now. Being an idiot, I'm taking my tunnel to the shop so I didn't do the higher portion. After primering halfway, I realized I probably should have just sanded it and painted it so that none of the disgusting shit on it would be a hassle next time. I also don't want to clean it on the new paint I'll be taking it to the shop in about a month so that's exciting. carpet kit came in. I'm getting some ... forgot the name. the stuff under the carpet from home depot. it's coming along. Thanks for the help and now for some pics if you even bothered to read. this is what it looked like whemn i just tore off the old ripped carpet. this is taking out some of the crap out. I took a food break so took a quick pic. this is pretty close to all sanded down. I just used paint remover from here after everything was smooth. this is primired. it looks kinda shitty but it's better in person. and i didnt spray inside that bar because it was dirty and didnt realize that until midway. I kinda screwed up but I'll fix it. Quote Link to comment
DatMo
Thanks, I actually cleaned up that hole and painted it with leak seal. I ran out towards the end so for definition, i used black paint. I'll just redo the part under my radio another time. I didnt want dust to fill on the primer so i just sprayed it now. DatMo
I decided to cut my own tunnel hole and fix the one my car has on my own. any tips? I was also wondering where I could get the foam that goes above the metal but under the carpet? I was gonna try home depot but if I know where to go, no point in wasting time. Quote Link to comment
izzo
Its just carpet padding. You can use home depot stuff. Careful tho... If your car leaks water that padding will soak it up and stay wet for dayyyyyyyyys, helping your floor rot. 1 Quote Link to comment

DatMo
Here's a pic of the final product. I assure you it s all black, just terrible lighting in the damn garage. It looks like there is primer at some parts but indeed, iit's all done. I will be doing my tunnel sometime soon to finish it off. sorry bad pics, I was also wondering that for the metal that went along the pillars, and the side of the doors, could those be replaced with vinyl and some adhesive?
