converted_to_datsun
Fixed my fried harness today, as far as I can tell I still have no dash lights tho... Dang. Anyway I got a new plug for the main harness and a new combination switch for the column cause that's what fried. There was a wire disconnected at the back of the switch which coulda been part of the problem and the fried plugs sure didn't help. Old and new switch Bad wire Fried crispy Quote Link to comment
converted_to_datsun
Oh I also got a spare dimmer switch from banner a few days ago and plugged it in and no change. Also thanks to Adam for the new switch haha Quote Link to comment

converted_to_datsun
Haha they'll go on ass soon as I get them completely ready. I just spent some time cleaning them up more and putting a stock head shield and return springs as well as making some new gaskets. Now I have to fix the line for the manifold water and figure out what to do with all the random vacume ports One step closer Quote Link to comment
Draynor
sweet man, can't wait to see them installed! Quote Link to comment
converted_to_datsun
Hmm that's interesting... I was driving today and was lacking a little power so I took it through the gears to around 5k and all the sudden less hesitation but sounds completely streight piped.... Poking around everything looks normal... Time to investigate further... Quote Link to comment
converted_to_datsun
Well my exhaust is screwed haha the down pipe snapped at the manifold. On the hunt for another down pipe today... No fixin that pipe haha Quote Link to comment
converted_to_datsun
Double post fail Quote Link to comment
izzo
If you were closer, we could patch it at least Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Thats the "drive til it breaks" results. You knew you needed to fix something down there. Quote Link to comment
converted_to_datsun
Thanks Izzo, it was on my list to replace anyway Haha yep Jacob I knew something wasn't right in my exhaust but I was tryin to stretch it out till I could weld a new exhaust Anyways I went to pick and pull and grabbed another down pipe then went to nappa and got some clamps and a few peices of 2" pipe and went to work. It took some doing to get a decent fitting exhaust out of the bits I had but it turned out pretty clean and sounds way better. I'll be doing a new exhaust soon but for now it'll do the trick Old exhaust out My custom down pipe haha I could only get ahold of the top cause the forklift at the yard killed the rest In place! Eagle_Adam
ive seen worse "fixes" :P sorry i did make it home sooner to check but PnP is way closer than my place Quote Link to comment
converted_to_datsun
Haha thanks dude and don't worry about it lol This fix is actually only temporary haha gonna weld a whole new exhaust soon Quote Link to comment
converted_to_datsun
Well I bought a new toy... A mig welder!! I started by welding the tabs on my bed for the tailgate latches. I'm pretty happy with it lol my tailgate opens and shuts on it's own for the first time since I bought it My toy It'll clean up Purdy haha It closes! Quote Link to comment
converted_to_datsun
Well my down pipe fix came apart yesterday... But no worries haha I have a welder! While I was at it I also shortened it a bit and tucked the exhaust higher under the truck. Then for good measure I ran a bead on each joint to keep it from pulling apart again. My welded down pipe. (Welds ain't too Purdy but I used flux core haha) Quote Link to comment
izzo
Using flux core is not an excuse for Shitty welds  YouTube some videos on how to, and techniques, then practice practice Quote Link to comment
converted_to_datsun
haha I already know how to weld. Kinda just getting ust to my new welder. Probably the main thing is i'm using a 15 amp outlet instead of a 20 amp so I can't turn the heat up higher lol welds were not hot enough but will work Quote Link to comment
converted_to_datsun
A couple updates today. I grabbed some chains for the tailgate so it can open like a normal truck. Then I went and put some new tires on the front Quote Link to comment
