I'm pretty sure I've owned each of the cars on the lower level at one point. Must have been late 1972? I agree, it'd be a cool poster.

There are two other awesome photos similar to post # 1. One I found long ago on a railfan website.

 

 

It is a pic of a Santa Fe freight train eastbound in San Bernardino, CA with two auto carrier cars full of 620s photographed April 9, 1974. This train originated in Long Beach and is traveling to Barstow where those two cars will be switched out and placed on other trains for their final destination to the dealer. Many Datsuns were delivered this way. Timeless photo !

 

Also, the reason late 620s were built with the gastank mounted to the frame is that the beds were shipped seperately. Toyota did the same thing:

 

 

 

The other pic is the aerial port shot with almost 1000 620s sitting after being unloaded off a boat. None of the trucks have their beds installed and are as delivered from Japan.

Don't know if anybody else noticed the name of that boat seems very similiar to the whaling vessell seen on whale wars...wonder if it's the same boat?

That is such an interesting photo. Possibly an earlier truck. No side plastic vent cutouts. Notice that the upper core support is straight, not dipping forward like a fan clutch truck would have. Also interesting is that as though it is a LHD truck, there appear to be no holes in the windshield post for a radio antenna. Wouldn't that be something if from the factory they just applied clear over the virgin sheetmetal ! ! !

Kind of amazing to see only one Z in all the pictures, but of the Datsuns that have survived, Z's seem to make up about 90% of them.

it will be 67, the 520 has small lights so its a 68 and down truck, and the blue 411 you can see a sss emblem on the rear pillar. those are 67 only. judging by the nice weather in sf if you went back to the news from then you could prolly pinpoint the month it was taken since they have fog and rain the rest of the year cept one month lol
