Ala.411
Just got a 67 Datsun 411 as my first car and I'm trying to restore it. Let me know what you guys think and feel free to give tips and ideas. I know it will be expensive to restore by I want something different. 2 Quote Link to comment
paradoxx
Welcome!!! And about the "i want something different", you mean, like the 411 itself or you want to do something different to the 411? Good job with the oics!! Quote Link to comment
Lonestar
Welcome to the insanity, you've come to the right place! Once you buy your first Datsun yer hooked and boy what a little gem you found! Clean little car, very good shape for a 411 that I have seen in awhile but I'm no expert and just remember, keep the lukers around here fed with a lot of pic's and you'll do fine! bananahamuck
Restore ? ...looks pretty restored to me. Welcome... Why the two sets of mirrors? And i am probably in the minority , but i like the ones out on the fenders better even though they look aftermarket. .. Welcome Quote Link to comment
Ala.411
What I mean is that I've never seen one of these where I live and I wanted a car that stood out. I picked it over a civic a maxima and a few other cars. I want to do something different to it too. The only big problem I found with it is a huge dent in the back right quarter panel After seeing a crack I decided to take all the bando off and and paint it before water got into it and started rusting. Since its been raining for the past fiew days. And that's when I discovered it. Quote Link to comment
Ala.411
I took the mirrors off the door. I've been having the fender set laying around and I got this car and thought it would look nice with them so I put them. The only thing I've done is redo the dash and wet sand the pain a little becouse it was all dripped But the interior need a lot of work Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
At least the metal under bondo isn`t real rusty or completely rusted out ..and the fender mirrors really cool to me.. And the restore comment is because if you were to see the pile-o-411 im thinking of fixing up ..yours is pristine.. Quote Link to comment
Ala.411
Thanks. Il post pics up later of what I do. Any tips ?? Anyone .. Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Thanks. Il post pics up later of what I do. Any tips ?? Anyone .. Your best friends will be RockAuto and Tana the Datsun lady! Tana has 411 parts, granted she's in Wash, State but parts are parts. If your local school district has an auto body shop course you might think of having the shop instructor look at your quarter panel. Quote Link to comment
