bonvo
so let me get this straight the car looks rusted but it is covered in rustolium so it doesnt actually rust? 1 Quote Link to comment
fisch
That is pretty interesting and convincing Indy! So the paint has metal in it that will rust when wet? Hope you have a pretty good primer under there! Lookin forward to some daylight shots! Quote Link to comment
INDY510
Needed moar yellow paint: Hooked up the rear brakes: Had to bench bleed the master: .... after everything was already hooked up, and wouldn't bleed 1 Quote Link to comment
fisch
I think it is pretty neat actually. Hmmmm if I were try it I think I would take a big house painting brush, load it with the paint and spatter it in certain areas. Then the rust would almost have a chipped paint feel. If one were feeling really game, they could then take a liner brush and paint a fake shadow along one edge of the splotches. That is one of the things that was so cool about the VW, seemed like natural areas, peeking through that white paint. Is the paint expensive? Way to blaze a trail Indy! Quote Link to comment
510kevin
thats intense indy, i actually like it!!! Quote Link to comment
albyneau
Well that is indeed an interesting look! But how do you tell when it really does start to rust? Will it get clearcoated? Quote Link to comment

baldredhead
^^^^ . Sept. 2007: trying different motors .... ... . a Yamaha R6 motor (bad idea) .. ...... and a FWD Nissan Pulsar CA16DE so what was a bad idea about the R6 motor? ever get it running or did it not make it past the "this doesn't fit and won't be worth the effort" stage? I think it failed the torque requirements. You would be revving at like 10k just to get the car moving. Quote Link to comment
DISLEXICDIME
i wonder how it would look with a thind out layer of red over it then it could wear through. it is just to much rust Quote Link to comment
