BuickPoweredDatsun
Howdy gents, I posted on here in the tech department about wiring. It was my first post, so I figured i'd also jump in here and talk about my project. Im building a 72 510 for quarter mile racing. And since this project I might look for another one to possibly build a road racer. I have to admit, they're pretty neat little cars. Anybody else out there building a drag car out of a 510? Z-train
The IRS is the weak link.It doesn't like shock loading. That's why most Datsun drag cars are based on the 1200 Quote Link to comment

jun
Wow!!! That is crazy. Hurts just a bit to see a 510 turned into a drag car, but I'm all for something different! Quote Link to comment

Jesse C.
Buick did make V8's and good ones too. I don't see anywhere on his post that he is using a V6 Quote Link to comment
BuickPoweredDatsun
It is a Buick V8, 455 .040 over. Quote Link to comment

BuickPoweredDatsun
I'll try to put a video of the motor when I first started it. Not sure how well it'll work. This is from when the motor was in my 66 Buick Skylark. *Edit, ok cant figure that out. Here is the YouTube video. Quote Link to comment

Dirty Dingo
Ran 9.24's on pump gas. Driven daily. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Buick 455... nice. I think these are 100 lbs ligher than 454 chevy, 455 olds or pontiac. So the right big block for a Datsun :-) There are a lot of "3/4 chassis" datsuns in Florida and New Jersey and Puerto Rico. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Definitely looks like the Olds or Buick head, not a big block Chev and not a Nail Head Buick motor either. Quote Link to comment
yellowdatsun
Yep, Brents old car. You car's history precedes you :-) If you're interested at all, we have a big Datsun following in the PHX area. I think there's even a few guys in Prescott near you. Not that that car has much Datsun left, but just sayin............you're welcome to hang with us. Quote Link to comment
