Madness
So I tried doing a pinstriping thread a while back and it seemed like nothing came of it. Ratsun is full of artistic talent and I know we have some pinstripers in here. Post up some of your work or some of the work you've had done. Share tips on brushes, paints, thinners, so on. I always have my eye out for new styles and lines and its always good to have another source of inspiration. Here are a shit load of pictures of my recent Now its your turn. Quote Link to comment

Madness
Nice stuff Monk! I really need to get out to more events, set up a tent and what not. I used metallic silver for the first time last night thinning it with mineral spirits. Don't really know what everyone is bitching about. It covers pretty well, pulls nice and smooth, and will stripe forever on one load of the brush. It does get Everywhere though. Quote Link to comment

I've had some troble using it over darker base colors. BUT....Add a drop or two of white and it thickens up well an covers even better!! Also put a marble or large bearing in the can and shake the crap out of it before use. Otherwise all the metallic has a tendancy to gum up on the bottom. Quote Link to comment
Madness
Yeah i've read that all the pigment falls to the bottom pretty quick. I usually just use a wood craft stick to mix it all up really well. What do you store your brushes in. I have a ziploc tupperware with neetsfoot oil and my brushes usually float in the oil. Problem is my brushes will "set" if they sit against the side at a funny angle (my kafka brush mostly). I just don't want to pony up the 75 bucks for a brush box. Quote Link to comment

I have A wooden Machinist box from Bi-Mart. ($ 50 - they have the same one at Harbor Freight) It has a couple small drawers that I glued some high density styrofoam into. Poked some holes into the foam and viola....brush holder. I jus saw a pic on the lounge where a guy took the spring from a spiral notebook and cut it to fit his box ( a big tackle I think) then used some small bolts, nuts,a dn washers to secure it.
