izzo
Everything has been removed. Four bolts in the bell housing is all that's left. Will slide the trans back and drop the flywheel and will be good to go to replace it. Need to run up to Puyallup so I can get my motor from danny. 1 Quote Link to comment

izzo
I'll just leave these here.Came with an electronic dizzy installed, tons and tons of random spare parts, 4 speed, came with an extra rebuilt 4 speed, spare rims. The car is clean, super clean. No rust anywhere. Only a small ding or two, original paint. all the interior is there, even the hard to find hatch arear plastics and spare tire cover.. Like I've only seen a few other b210 coups in this good of shape. It's CLEAN. runs tits. Needs a few thingsGot it yesterday... The pedal went to the floor unless you pumped it up, and the E-brake didn't work. Just as I suspected, the rear brakes were just out of adjustment. Adjusted them today. Pedal is back at the top and good to go. It needs inner and outer tie rods something fierce. It's a little sketchy driving it, but those will be replaced this week. The steering clunks when you turn it cuz the inners are pretty worn out. The valve cover is the wrong one or bent or something, if I tighten it down all the way i can hear the valve train touching it. So it's slightly loose. leaks a little oil because of that. I have 3 other valve covers, I will try and make one work once I figure out what's going on. But it runs tits, so I don't think anything is out of adjustment. I'll go over the rest later. Thing is so damn clean! NO RUST!!!! I spent a few hours cleaning it up earlier... I have more to go vacuum wise. Fucking pine needles man, and the kid never vacuumed it. Damn it, shits ground in. Got a good part of it, still a ways to go. Also cleaned all of the interior with Mothers Protectant on the door cards, dash, interior pieces... I scrubbed the back carpet with de-greaser.Here's some pics... more info and shit coming soon. I need...Inner/outer tie rods, maybe drag link. I might need a steering box too, but it seems fineRadioumm.... That's it, everything works haha. I need to fine tune some stuff.Figure out the valve cover issuePaint is in good shape however needs buffed, its oxidized. I guess there is surface rust in two or three places... Just nothing cancerousblah blah pics... 2 Quote Link to comment

izzo
Been a while since I've posted. Figured I'd do an update. Had the head fail on the b210. Replaced it. Swooped up another b210. Traded my integra for a 720. Had to do a trans swap on it.... Just tore a wrecked 720 apart... BLah blah, datsun, pics. blah blah 4 Quote Link to comment

Lockleaf
L series engine, but clearly newer than 80. You buy it that way or swap it? Good looking truck. 1 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
720 with L motor cool lower the back Quote Link to comment
izzo
Thanks! 84 with l20. Got it like that but had to fix it. They used the wrong brackets so it was not level. It's level now. Everything is new on the engine. Trans rebuilt. New carb. I aligned it in my garage tonight. Going to double check it soon. Not going to lower the back anymore. I lowered it a few inches already. Need some height as its going to be used as a work Truck. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
What did you do to correctly mount it? Z brackets reversed side to side? Just found some 720 L series brackets? 1 Quote Link to comment
izzo
What did you do to correctly mount it? Z brackets reversed side to side? Just found some 720 L series brackets? Well, IDK what exactly he (the PO) had at first. I pm'd datsun mike and asked him. He said he threw a naps in a 620, so it should fit other way around. I do believe the frame mounts have a slightly different angle than that of a 620 or 1980 720. But without getting a protractor, I can't tell for sure. I ended up using 620 rubber mounts, and 620 motor brackets. They bolt slightly in the wrong spot, so it took a little work getting the motor bolted down. but she's in and damn near level. Maybe a degree off? not enough to effect the carb floats. If i had to do it again, I would drill/tap new holes in the frame purch on both sides, then cut some 620 brackets and re-weld them. A spacer would work too. I can take pics and PM it to you if you are interested. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Don't worry about it. I was just mildly curious. I just barely got a Z22 fitted in my 510 and it took me three sets of mounts and lots of advice. I tried z22 720 2wd, and z24 720 4x4, both were way off. I ended up using a set of 620 L series, but reversed side to side to lean the motor the other way. Fit damn near perfect. So I was just wondering what you saw going the other direction, L series into 720. 2 Quote Link to comment
Rhino13
I'm putting an lz in my 84 720. I have 521, 620, and 720 motor mounts I'm going to try in in different figurations. I'll report back if I find a combo that works well. 1 Quote Link to comment
izzo
The L series brackets with the L series rubber motor mounts work pretty damn good. Like its ever so slightly off. I can take a pic if you want. The motor sits pretty level, you wouldn't be able to tell unless you really looked. Replaced the driver side lower ball joint. it had a a lot of play. Jacked the truck up and could move the wheel in and out a few inches. Was ridiculous! 1 Quote Link to comment
Rhino13
Yeah pictures would be great whenever you can. Did you get both the trans mount bolts in all the way with it being slightly off? What brand did you get? I'm looking into doing mine before the shows in June. 2 Quote Link to comment

I used a 620 5 speed. 1 Quote Link to comment
Rhino13
I have a 620 5 speed as well. Sorry I worded that wrong, I saw that you used 620 mounts. I meant what brand ball joint. And good to know on the trans, thanks 1 Quote Link to comment
izzo
I do alignments, brakes, ball joints, steering and suspension for a living. I buy moog ball joints and tie rods. There is another one i forget the name, they come in a blue/white box. They are just moog with a different box. Les schwab uses them. Stay way from Mevotech. 3 Quote Link to comment
