You are so right.

But, you should know how to handle your cars and trucks in all conditions.

I can think of many times, it wasn't the fact I had a better car.
It was more of the fact I knew my car.

Plus!

I have been known to run to the coast in the middle of the night, just to smell the salt in the air.
For you single guys!

Girls like being picked up and taken to the beach and watch the sun come up.
Try it!

Glad to hear it's running good. Nothing like having confidence in your dime to take you where you want to go.......and back.

Guess what, the carb secondary being open kept me from being able to adjust my air mixture screw!
Hot damm!
Now I know, for sure.  I need new and lower idle jets!

I am 2 1/2 turns out on it.

lucky this is just a idle jet change if really needed. at 2.5 turns I would worry to much.

yes a opensecondary will fuck up the idle settings timming adj ect.

PS. see a red Ignitioncoil on  on your car  just to let you know if its a MSD blaster its a .7 ohm coiland if you still running points it will be hard on it. I see the stock ballast on there also but a .7 ohm or .8 ohm resisitor should be in series with it to keep points from buring up. arching.  If you got eleltric it might be Ok but just to let you know. I run a SUPERCOIL and use 2 ballast.a stock plus the .85 ohm one in the kit.  make sure you got it wired right so the Hotstart(bypass goes stright to the + side coil during START.

Is this what you have?

I have a red stock coil.
Haven't made up my mind which way to go in this department.
I had a ACCEL Super coil when they first came out.
MSD sound cool!

But haven't decided yet!
When I decide, maybe you can help on that day! Since it shouldn't take long to do.

Went to the Cascade Station Saturday meet and greet.
Was cool.
I took some oics.
Will show later!

Hi.

Today, I dropped by Discount Imports.
I picked up all the jets that should be in the Weber 32/36 for my engine.
Now I know my engine has been bored and has 1 mm bigger flat top pistons.

Some some of the settings for a 32/36 will be closer than the settings for an L20B.

The weber book has these jets in the carb!

Main          Idle              Air corrector             Emulsion tube

Primary:             140             .55                     165                             F50

Secondary:         135             .60                     160                            F60

What's in there now!

Main          Idle              Air corrector             Emulsion tube

Primary:             140             .60                     160                            F50

Secondary:         140             .50                     170                           F50

Okay, I started the car and it just would not idle.
The smaller main idle jet was just to darn small.

So it seems to be running much better, even the lower rpm range seems stronger now!

That was just running up and down the street.
I will take a test drive in an hour.

Okay, just got back from, running the shit out of it.

I was watching the temp, to see if the car was running hotter.

Nope!

Not hotter, but cooler!

The gauge is just a little under where it was.

It revs up quicker than it used to.

Even under load.
It sounds like a well tuned Weber now.
Buddy of mine wants to go to the falls before it melts.

I may take him, to check my mileage under normal conditions.

But I like the response much more!

The reason the idel jet needed to be bigger is my cylinders are larger which require more fuel than what a normal L18 would get!

Here is the specs I got from the guy that did all the block and head work on my engine.

He said he had SU's on this engine.
But he didn't like them so he took them off and put the weber on.

He ran out of money, before you got it all tuned.

Long rod L18
flattop Z20S pistons and peanut chamber head for 9.7:1 CR, better rod/stroke ratio for higher RPM.
Parts: L18 crank, L18 block, L16 rods, Z20S pistons
s/2+r+p: 207.66mm
piston deck height: -0.29 (below deck)

I did the math and it looks like I have a 1812cc engine in my car with an 8 grand limit on RPM!

Yo guys!
Anyone know the spacer thickness for the brake booster?

I have one and I want to put it in.
My old man knees would prefer it!

I am going to make one.

Should be real easy!

I am going to make 2 plates like the one that goes firewall in between the master and the wall.
Then I will take a piece on 2 1/2 - 3 inch pipe.
Drill all holes and then weld them together.

Should look something like this.

Thanks in advance!

Like Nanner said.........I cleaned it up and polished it.........

.........then realized it wasn't gonna fit..........

No prob, Doc.......but it's almost 1 3/4" thick..........not 1 1/2"

I even cleaned my booster up.........

What I did today?
Started looking at the running more light in the dash.
Even though I have leds in every socket it still is not bright enough.
So, I am running more lights in the dash.

Check out the dash now!

No Flash.

This is my engine trouble light, I had powder coated.
I also replaced the bulb light with leds.

Here is two pics one with the lights and and the flash from my phone.
Yes, I replaced the switch too.
It needed to be replaced.

This is what I used.

12" across the bottom of the instruments.
2" in the head of the trouble light.
Hope you guys like, it is plenty bright now.

Are they bright enough?
My eyes don't have to adjust going from the head lights to the dash.
I could not find my yellow roll.
One of my buddies must have it on his plane.

We order it all the time.

But, Xmas is right around the corner.

So, I have to wait!
Plus we start moving, day after Xmas.

Finally, be able to breath without a mask in this moldy house.

I woke up with a flat in the front.

Fucking roofers.
Since my front tires are still needing to replace.

I am glad, I didn't get the new ones yet.
But they brought me a repair kit, to fix it.
So, no more bitching from me.

I agreed to the repair kit. Now I have to find my air pump
