Let me try again.

 

The bill sucked in it's present form. It needs a lot of work. We won't even know for a while if it works or not.

 

Maybe they should have tried a little of this and a little of that first, instead of some bloated, wheeler dealer type bill.

 

The Republicans and the Blue Dog Democrats are not helping one bit. Obama to his credit... and discredit, has given them every chance to be bipartisan. They have their tits in a ringer, because the lobbyists and corporations that funnel money into their election campaigns are holding their feet to the fire. It's FASCISM RISING.

 

I agree, but it's all politicians, whatever you choose to label them. Every one of them. Especially those that have made a lifetime career out of a public office. Reset is a term I've heard lately that sounds promising.

Big corporations run big government. They want to eliminate the middle class and have an army of working poor to fuel their cash machine. They want people to get all excited about the perception of the Government taking away rights and a chunk of your hard earned pay check, while they don't pay much if at all in taxes.

 

I happen to do work for few of those 'big businesses' on a daily basis, most of which are union houses and employ thousands and more. The small company I work for depends on them and I in turn depend on my company to provide work and a paycheck for me and my co-workers. Are you saying that the taxes already collected by the government are not enough do the job they were elected to do? 20% of my paycheck goes to them before I even touch it...and I know that the company I work for pays more than that in taxes to have me as an employee.

 

Look at the stock prices of the health care companies in the last few days. They are going up because of they are going to continue to rake in profit. A small percent of the population controls most of the wealth through corporations, why shouldn't they pay a bigger chunk of their profit to help everybody? Huh? Don't be a tool!

 

This bill did nothing to cap any insurance fees. Sure they have to insure the people with pre-existing conditions, but they'll just charge extra for it and raise everyone elses rates just because they still can. Not to mention the taxes added to anything medical related. Will that bring medical costs down and help the poor?

 

The fact that the bill passed is big stuff. It is a step in the right direction. Now let's see if they can fix it. I ain't gonna hold my breath. Money doesn't talk... it screams!

Hope that doesn't look like an attack on you. I just wanted to clarify a few things as I understand them with this bill. I've tried reading it since it was made available online, but the lawyer-speak makes my brain hurt. At one point it either says I'm getting taxed 9.5% more because I make more than $33,000 or I get a tax break of 9.5%. Neither of which make any sense to me...it's either a flat tax for those 300% above the poverty line or poor people are getting a shitty tax break...:confused:

Yeah, your definetly correct about Jesse and his very nice shop :D ;) I still like his ex-wife though :D , she looks pretty dang good to me in "The Blind Side" if you haven't seen it ( I took my niece and nephew to it :mellow: ) She's worth watching , I MEAN IT's worth watching :lol: ;)

 

Well I can tell you one thing about me money does not = happiness for me ( part of it is how I was raised , and mostly my personality ) , and we all need enough of it to get by but ultimately I believe in community projects , volunteerism , and altruism. Right now my medical problem limits my ability ( somewhat physically but I am not confined just think of it as "sick days" ) , and especially as you know no one bank is giving out loans without ripping your nuts off with a big grin. I actually would rather spend my time at home , and maybe start a family someday ( distant someday ) , and I actually had an opportunity to work for a Large Food Chain in which you basically go around store to store , evaluate managers , and either promote or trash Store Managers ( Head Hunter ) Pays very very very well , but I couldn't handle ending peoples futures just to expand my own , I am not that type of person nor will I stay sane in a position like this. ( It's a highly sought after job , and extremley cut-throat if you don't get to know every aspect of who you are dealing with )

FigBuck , your alright :D , 98% agreed hands down ! Yes :D , like I said in the last email much of my immediate family are mechanics , machinist , carpenters , techs , etc.... and I will be the only one of my brothers with formal education with a 4 year degree( which is useless unless you have some type of experience or expand beyond that ) in many cases that I have seen. hahaha the phrase "tea bagger" makes me laugh. Your thoughts , experience , and understanding of the system is actually very well received by my attention.

 

So, for many years I have read and studied about all kinds of different things. I’m an constantly learning. I sure as fuck don’t know it all and never will. My Dad used to say, “The more I know, the more I know I don’t know.” There are things I’m into that are changing so fast that I can barely keep up, let alone master the discipline. Every morning I wake up. read the paper, drink some coffee and realize how freakin' small I think. It's a problem.

That is very wise , and extremley good advice that I have seen people ( including myself ) take years or too long to learn , and now I keep on top of the subjects I like to follow. ( or at least make an effort to , but it is hard ! )

 

It shows ! I love to learn quite a bit where I can too in a few disciplines ( probably honestly not as near as much as you do ) , but working on my car(s) gives me a way out , even then you keep learning too ! I actually have nothing but 100% respect for those people who challenge , analyze , read , synthesize , and try to overcome daily biases or even what all see to be accepted as "normal" or "un-biased".

 

Figbuck , I enjoyed "posting" with you :lol: honestly this is the best , most insightful , post I have seen of your yet on ratsun. Don't let us down , keep it up :D ( seriously this was a good one ;) )

 

If you want something really interesting to read , from start to finish , count the reasons or write them down ( as well as statements and events ) as too why Google threatened to pull out of China. It's really hazy then clears up , then hazy again :lol: :lol: :lol:

 

As far as Jesse goes , I believe if everyone had access to cool tools like that to play with , design and fab , well we wouldn't need Mr. James for west coast choppers anymore :lol: Everyone would have tinkering , and models of their own. But I could be wrong , I know everything goes much better for me , and expands my possibilities with the "right tools" , but you already have known this means you have been a carpenter for a long time.

Repeal, yeah, whatever. Socialism? Yeah, we may be headed in that direction. Don't like it? Vote and organize. Like I said, I'm a socialist... I have single payer health care already. Reet! I don't really have a problem with Cornel West. They are organizing and doing what Americas can do. There are some Republicans that are now waffling, think that there is some good stuff in the bill and got some of what they wanted.

 

Let's see what happens. It is too soon to tell. This stuff is still developing. It seemed like last night because of all the shenanigans the reconciliation bill could be headed back to Congress. Maybe Single Payer isn't dead yet.

 

I am pretty amazed that the Republicans can act like spoiled kids that didn't get the cool toy for their birthday and are pulling tantrums and nobody thinks this is wrong in the media. There were some high level military officers that came from half way around the world for a scheduled meeting to testify before the Armed Forces Budget committee and they stalled the meeting. If Democrats would have pulled something like this It would be all over the headlines. Support the Military or you are a traitor!!! Unless you are a Republican. Rurt... reeeet!

 

Like I said before, it's politics and usual, business as usual.

I was thinking last night that we have missed an opportunity here. Hey Fearincognito, Datzen Mike , Radio and any other Canadians... tell us how your system works. I have never talked to a Canadian and can’t even remember meeting someone who has lived there. Does it seem ridiculous or merely entertaining what we are going through?

Just for the record, I'm not a Republican. I'm closest to a Constitutionalist. LESS federal government. States should dictate what is best for their state. I realize living here on the left coast I'm in the minority on most issues here, I don't think a lying, pederast makes a good role model let alone a mayor of a major metro city. But I vote and let the majority decide. When dubya won for the first time (2nd term), I said fuck it, you all get what you deserve. Didn't know the punishment would be JUNIOR senator from the arguably most corrupt political establishment in the country.

I assume your 'single payer healthcare' is from US Military service?

I've been there...for 18 years as a Navy brat.

I get better care and a choice in who I see these days. Hopefully that will continue as someday I'd like to get my finger fixed correctly by the Dr I choose.

 

BTW, You earned that coverage from your employer for sevices rendered, don't go thinking it's single payer healthcare.

 

 

I design tooling for aircraft manufacturing. Our customers are worldwide.

As a Canadian who doesn't have anything to do with this. I am wondering why wouldn't you want to have universal healthcare? When I need to see a doctor I just call up my family physician if its urgent I can see her or another doctor in the clinic that day. Yes our system has some problems but it works for the most part.

 

When I was down in Kalispell Montana this summer I broke my arm. We went to emergency room. Gave them my Alberta Health Care card and Extended Health Care card and every thing was smooth sailing from there. It was the best treatment I ever had at hospital the Doctor brought me a warm blanket Two x-ray techs wheeled me to x-ray(Canada I would have had to walk my ass to the x-ray room my self). They casted me up and sent me on my way without having to pay a cent.

 

I think it is one thing that makes us Canadians is that we look out for our own. And I wouldn't have it any other way.cool.gif

I am a Libertarian. I believe in helping myself, and when possible helping others [donations to charities, handing the person begging some cash] but it is my choice; not the Federated Governments. With that said I was reading up a bit on the Health Care Bill and saw this.

 

Individual Mandate:

In 2014, everyone must purchase health insurance or face a $695 annual fine. There are some exceptions for low-income people.

 

Which is a Direct Violation of these.

 

Amendment 9 - Construction of Constitution. Ratified 12/15/1791.

 

The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

 

Amendment 10 - Powers of the States and People. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note

 

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

 

The idea that a Federated Government whose authority derives from the people attempting to suborn for itself those Powers inherent in the People is a Violation of Oath and Violation of the Public Trust.

 

Now as far as Health Care Reform goes, I think its needed. But to tell me I will be Fined if I do not have Health Care? :fu: Obama

Well, you know the federal government has a history of making people do things they don't want to do. The Selective Service and draft was not something I particularly wanted to be involved with.

 

What are you arguing about this for? You want to opt out of having any health care insurance program? You would rather roll the dice and be wit out even catastrophic health insurance? If you were in an accident that cost hundreds of thousands, could you write checks? I have lived having to work may ass off and not being able to afford insurance, There is a sense of unease that sucks to think that how easily I could get hurt working or even commuting and my business would be done for. Having insurance is at least better that a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. I gives you at least a little sense of security. I have had three accidents at work where I should have gone to the ER but I didn't have any insurance, so I didn't go,

 

The lasts time, I cut the tip of my finger off on a saw. They did a fantastic job of patching me back up at the VA. I bet the bill for that and an appointment to get stitches out would have been at least three grand. I don't have three grand right now.

 

Oh yeah, getting fined for not having insurance sounds like a bitch. Except if you are poor then it won't matter. You need to get all your Libertarian brothers and sisters together, and help yourself lobby to change that.

 

I'm all over states rights baby! They seem to be at least less hypocrites than the Fed. You know the states are being run by special interests. I think it will be pretty funny when the State of California legalizes Marijuana.

I already have insurance and most people do. I've already opted in.

The small percentage of people without insurance either:

 

a. Don't choose to have health insurance even though they can afford it.

b. Are not aware of the many health care programs available to poor.

 

This "health care reform" does nothing but drive up the cost of health insurance and does nothing about actual health care.

 

 

 

The constitutional issues should bother every American citizen.

I have antilock brakes but you dont see me testing them while going 100mph towards a brick wall, people can be very responsable with deadly machines..just drive the 405 in LA to witness that one. Its the black part thats socialist just look at the black countrys and it proves that. I worked at a hospital for many years..have an emergency and they HAVE to help you BY LAW! Why do you think there are so many illegal imigrents fighting to be over here. Its called leave your ID at home and walk out without having to pay anything...they cant keep you like prison so you walk out free. Sounds bad well its not at LEAST you have paid your taxes and your just getting a return on your investment. CA is screwed because instead of blaming the immigrant we should be taxing the MEX government for allowing these people to come over here and USING our great system. I am part MEX and understand completely why they do there country treats them like sh*t...I would go to Canada if they treated me for free as well. Legalizing MJ would be an act of freedom under the constitution the states are FREE to develope what they seem right the FED Govnmt has NO right to impose thier beliefs. Hawaii leaglized gay marriage cool! Dont like it move to a state that doesnt. thats in the constitution. And thats CALLED FREEDOM!
