Jason
OK, it's not a Datsun, but, it was a present from a buddy on here, thanks Dave. It's pretty cool and drives pretty smooth too. It's pretty cool old school looking anyhow :D. Heater blasts like a furnace, sure would make a good winter beater! It's a 2.6L straight 6 with a 3 speed, column shift automatic. Cruises OK once you get going, but, the beast weighs like 3000lbs! Quote Link to comment
Cruzn620
man that looks like one of those amphibious cars! i have never sen one, that thing is wild! Quote Link to comment
Jason
Yup, classic old JDM yo! It's neat! I've never seen one before in real life either until Dave pulled down my driveway in it. I had to do a double take, it was cool! Quote Link to comment
DatDoug
That thing looks so Mafia! Tint the windows and get yourself a black suit and a big gun and your set. Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
You have a good friend ! I like how they dont really have bumpers but they do. Is it a straight 6 & how does it run? Body & int. are in great shape too. Quote Link to comment
makya
Wow, that is SA-WEEET!!1:D I would roll in one of those for days! Quote Link to comment
LeDevil
That is a sweet car, is it me or does picture 5 remind you of a old T-Bird's tail lights Quote Link to comment
Jason
Dave's a super nice guy, too bad he had to choose between his 620 and the Crown, guess we know which one one out eh :)! Truthfully, I have no idea what to do with this "gangsta" mobile. I mean it's really cool and all, but, I'm already committed up to my eyeballs for a long time with my current Datsun projects. I just couldn't bear to see it go for parts or scrap, it deserves to be saved and driven.... Quote Link to comment
makya
If I was closer, I would offer to take it off your hands. Quote Link to comment
CharlieBucket
that's really cool. i have started relizing lately that old skool toyota are pretty neat. i have seen some nice old celica's lately. i never even heard of the crown, going to keep my eyes open for one now. Icehouse
Haha that thing is classy :D Get your wife to take a pic with you in it :D I want to see Jason in the Gangster ride! Quote Link to comment
Jason
Yah, it's a big pimpin' limo isn't it Jeff :)? It's got power steering and a whole grunting 120hp at the crank and about 140lb/ft of torque and I bet it gets bad gas milage to boot too! Rides nice and cushy though, no blasting around in this mobile, straight cruiser. Notice it has 4 speakers and an AM/FM radio, a real move up on my 1 speaker AM system in the wagon :D ..... Quote Link to comment
hang_510
nice score. now you need a matching wagon to go with it  there were 2 nice examples of each at the JCCS If I was closer, I would offer to take it off your hands. ill come take it...gangster style :fu: I want to see Jason in the Gangster ride! ...in a pinstripe suit and fuzzy fedora :D Quote Link to comment
fisch
I LOVE old crowns! I'd have taken the beast in a heartbeat too! I think there was a fastback, and I made a post about a wagon in this section a while back. Thanks for saving it! Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Found this poor thing in the yard. Never saw it 'cause they threw it right up on the pile. Too bad. I6 like a Maxima but carbed. http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q251/datzenmike/DSC01169.jpg[/img]"] Quote Link to comment
Jason
Whoa there, look at the waste! Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Damn Jason just realized this was your post! Do you need any parts off it? Could probably get it for $50. http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q251/datzenmike/DSC01171.jpg[/img]"] http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q251/datzenmike/DSC01172.jpg[/img]"]http:/ Sorry the camera is a gift and I'm not good with it yet. Jason
Morning Mike, I think theres a piece of trim I'm missing on the passengers side, the bit between the bumper and the fender. I'm missing the cigarette lighter itself from the interior and some other small bits, I shall have a looksee and see I guess! The Crown is a real luxo cruiser for sure and looks really neat though! Thanks Jason Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Looks like a chrome trim around the rear wheel arch. There's quite the pile on it. I'll get up there ASAP and maybe they can pull it down or save it from 'Crusher'. Quote Link to comment
Jason
That'd be swell Mike, I haven't thought about what to do with the old Crown yet, it drives pretty nice, but, burns oil. Looks to me that valve stem seals at least need replacing. If you can't get the piece, don't worry, one piece of chrome won't make too huge a difference with all the chrome it has on it! Thanks Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Cig lighter too? Hope it's still there. Quote Link to comment
Jason
Yes please, it'll at least fill the hole up where it's supposed to go... Don't get yourself hurt doing it though, looks to be like a giant house of cars there! Thanks Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I've had to smash out windows and climb in the back seat to get what I want before.:D Stripped a '79 truck that was three cars up on the pile, got the matchbox, windshield, rad, carb. Quote Link to comment
Jason
Heh, maybe at least push the one off on top of it! I'd ride the crown down off the pile, but, I'd hate to do that with a car on top of it.... Quote Link to comment
djlotus
Ok, I just saw a restored one of these on the JCCS 3 dvd and it was nice. Throw a fresh coat of paint down and that could be a sweet looking ride Quote Link to comment
