V8 521

Dave and I met this guy in the scrap yard today. He started asking why we were pulling hubs off a 720. I explained about the brakes...yada, yada.... He told us about a 521 he had that he stuffed a 305 into. His place was on our way home, so we stopped in and checked it out. He's not a member yet, but he's surfed the site. I put this in General for now. Hopefully, he'll join up soon and start his own build thread in the Projects forum :) Anyway....he thinks he'll have it ready for Canby. I thought you guys would like to check it out, so I snapped some phone pics :) Please make him feel welcome.

Well there's no going back now so... I embrace it. Nice job. Sure that's not a 283/307/327 motor? Maybe it's just the alt location.There is no sound like a Chevy intake moan.

I thought he said 305....if that's not right, I'm sure I got it wrong.....it came out of a 70something Nova.

 

It's a runner, but he needs a better radiator before it's actually a driver.

He REALLY needs to address brakes. Seeing that V8 next to the single brake master scares me. Other then that, he should run a super quiet exhaust with a cut out. Total sleeper by day. Public menace by night! Hahaha.

On the V8 subject, anyone remember who offered the Chevy V8 conversion kit for the 620 in the 70s?:confused:
