Cuts metal like mad
Even rarer, DOHC VTEC (pronounced Doc v-tack) Link to comment
nismo dr
very tall engine cooling? Link to comment
79D50
The Guys high...No way that motor with those specs makes close to 250HP. He might be leaving some shit out. 160-170 is more believable. I had to spend 4 times that amount to get mine over 200. And whomever said you have to go extreme to make over 200 hp on an L28 is mistaken. I had a 1970 Z with an L28 with an E31 head....blah blah blah...made just over 200 HP N/A. I had 3 grand in the motor. If you know what your doing i.e. the right combinations, you can make a lot of power staying N/A. You just got to break the bank to do it. Link to comment

You just got to break the bank to do it. it takes some decent work, nothing Id call extreme tho. but for me to call extreme would have to go building a custom twin cam head out of chopped up KA24 heads for your TT L28 (hybridz members doing), now thats extreme  your usual head work, bore/stroke, cam, programmable EFI/carb set up, ect. can be a lot of work but its standard procedure stuff Link to comment
Edz280zx
What I said was 250 rwhp....and to me 6 to 8 grand in a six cylinder motor to produce "just" 250 rwhp is a little extreme. Link to comment
Edz280zx
^^^that's without turbo's of course! Link to comment
Skib
6 to 8 grand in a six cylinder motor to produce "just" 250 rwhp  at that point Id slap a turbo on there and get that much for ~3k maybe Ill have to build an L28 on a Ratsun budget and see how much I can get out of it :P Link to comment
speeder
You gotta love the dude's enthusiasm though. I love his description. "This engine is not for beginners or kids." "This motor will stomp ass on just about anything." "Plus NO COMPUTER, NO MILLON WIRES NO BULLSHIT..JUST OLD SCHOOL RELIABLE POWER.." How would you like to pop the hood an show off a "Black Widow" L20B? I loved the ad even though I agree, 250hp is a stretch. And I agree, what's with the dual DGV's? The "Black Widow." Classic. It's not even a car, it's only the engine! Link to comment
Skib
^^^true dat! I might just have to concoct a little winter project ;) still thinkin about loosing thos carbs Ed? Link to comment
LAYEDOUTB2K
That ad is hilarious. Someone should email him and ask for a dyno sheet. My dad's lz22 is way more built than that and isn't even close to to the 250whp mark and that thing sounds like a damn v8 at idle. Link to comment
Cuts metal like mad
For a motor like that, you better have dual weber outlaw 38s!! Then again... wouldn't a pair of DCOEs be about the same price? Link to comment

datzenmike
I know nothing about spray bars, but wouldn't it make sense to spray oil onto the cam lobes before they contact the rocker arm? Link to comment
Skib
hmmm, the L6 spray bar is on the other side IIRC Link to comment

Braden
anyone notice the lack of water pump but excess of black paint in the water pump hole!!! lol i dont think any professional engine builder would paint inside the motor!!! Link to comment
yellowdatsun
IIRC the BRE trans Am 510's were making 200+hp out of the L-18 with side drafts. Link to comment
dimedriver
Another one has shown up on Craigs list in the bay area. I wounder if this is the same guy its got pictures. But no claims to how much power it puts out. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/pts/1492440335.html Link to comment
