Need help selling a 411 wagon!

Recommended Posts

Here's the story... My best friend had been coveting my 67 411 for some time, so we started looking for one for him. We found a really nice one out near Fresno, CA.

Being that my buddy is military, and was deployed for a 6-month training to Colorado, I agreed to put the deposit on it and pick the car up when I went out to the JCCS show.

Well, things took a rather shitty turn when his wife decided after 13 years that she'd rather go sow her wild oats (dropping the news on him WHILE he's out of town, mind you) than stick to her marriage vows....

So now, buying the car isn't such a great idea for him, with the impending divorce and such.

At any rate, the seller has agreed to refund my deposit IF and only IF we can get the car sold. I could sure use my $500 back, and it's a good-looking 411 for the money.

He's asking $1200 - And to sweeten the deal, I'll kick in $100 just to get part of my deposit back.

Seller's name is Ed (760) 793 1246, and the car is located at 808 w. Dolphin Ave. Ridgecrest, Ca. 93555. His email is: Rocketownn@aol.com

If $1100 is "too rich", you've not been watching 411 prices... But I digress.

Mike, I'm not familiar with that group... Guess maybe I should be, since I own one of the more popular 411's in existence... Whoops! :)

Like I said,, this isn't my car - I'd just like to see it go to a good home, and I could certainly use my deposit back. :(

UPDATE:

So, after I back out of the deal, I want to make sure the seller isn't inconvenienced.

I host the guy's pictures, compose and post up this thread, and find a buyer for the wagon.

He kept my $500 deposit.

Claims in numerous emails that he's going to return it. Jerks me around for weeks and weeks. Come to find out he withdrew it immediately. PayPal claim filed, and they found in my favor... but there's nothing in his account.

So, if anyone runs across this guy, tell him I said :fu:

What goes around comes around, and he just screwed the wrong guy. Time to make Mr. Ed famous. ;)
